The American Colonies, 1775. As a Native American warrior fights to protect his land and his people, he will ignite the flames of a young nation's revolution.

The new Native American/English protagonist is named "Ratohnhaké:ton", or simply "Connor" for everyone who can't pronounce that. The game apparently is the first to use a new Ubisoft engine, "Ubisoft-AnvilNext" which promises lots of nifty new eye-candy and AI possibilities.

Join the revolution on October 30, 2012 -- on 360, PS3, PC or Wii U.

Even though this is animated, the tree running looks great. Shouldn't be hard, it's essentially the same as running on the buildings and swinging around. They just need to change the animation so it looks like he's running up trees.

Also it looks like they're giving the fans what they want. Even though I could have went for a Japanese era, this isn't bad as it's one of the eras I was also hoping for.

That's actually a cool idea, although it'd be a bit out there for Assassin's Creed. It's a lot easier to see that Desmond's ancestors migrated to America eventually than to Japan.

Of course they could just have a new character or something that isn't Desmond...

I don't want to want to sound like a bitch, because I'm an Assassins Creed Fanboy...

How come people don't bitch when they make a game every year, but cry about other yearly games.

I think that's because Assassin's Creed has a overall continuing plot across it's games, as well as updating each game with new mechanics. It's what gives it an excuse, I guess.

People were bitching about the yearly installments of Assassin's Creed with Ezio. But there are actually 2 very good reasons:
1: The story they are trying to tell HAS to be told before Dec. 21, 2012, otherwise it won't be as good.
2: The people who made Brotherhood and Revelations were a different team. AC3 has been in the works for 3 years now.

Well I believe it was in the PSP version I think, where it said something about Altair going to Japan to find a Piece of Eden. I guess they couldn't have made it for Japan for the final game, but I would have loved to have played it in before the end.

But besides 1 and 2, they have been shitty games.

Brotherhood was good, I haven't played Revelations though.
Brotherhood was OKAY,good, not great, and Revelations just made me hate the damn thing
I'm playing through Brotherhood now, seems to be the best I've played so far. It's very similar to AC 2 but just with some extra contents that really makes it a little better.
I love how you can start your own Assassins Guild, and then just call them whenever you need them, amazing stuff and so cool.

After this I'll play Revelations, it's the same engine/story/character so I hope it's again like Brotherhood but with some things added.
Can't wait for AC 3 now, very impressed with the series so far, didn't know it was this good.

Necrobump aside I've now played Revelations and I actually quite liked it.

It's really just Brotherhood 2 but the storytelling is better. I didn't like Altair at all in the first Assassin's Creed but they really made him likeable in Revelations, where they reveal what happened to him and the Creed. Otherwise it's mostly the same. The Assassin's Guild is still there with all its trimmings (calling in assassins for help, sending them on missions, etc), platforming is the same (although there's now a hookblade to make climbing faster and you can make slightly longer jumps now), and combat is the same. They add a whole bomb making mechanic but I was able to complete pretty much every mission without them outside of the missions that required them.

But it's more cinematic, there's more to do, the story is much more relevant, and the multiplayer returns. If you're able to accept the fact that it's quite the same as Brotherhood in gameplay than you'll be able to enjoy another fantastic iteration of the series.

Topic was only a month old, + I really wanted to discuss the AC series a bit more now that I've got time to play them all. Better to post here than to make a new topic/blog.

Thanks for your opinion on Revelations, from what I've read on it it's a bit shorter than Brotherhood, more of the same, but that's not really bad IMHO. I'll just complete Brotherhood now, and in a few months I'll start Revelations so it stays sort of fresh.
I'm really loving Brotherhood right now, it reminds me of the GTA series in its best days.... Side quests, TONS of things to collect, fighting for turfs in your city, exploring wherever/whenever you want, ....
The ability to call in your Assassins at any time is so cool, I love it! I wouldn't mind at all if they did the same thing with AC 3, release 2 more games just to lengthen the series a bit, no problem at all IMHO.

I remember seeing the very first episode back in the day, and have watched every episode since. I used to set my VCR to record them even, shows how long ago.

South Park is great cause they always touch on relavent issues going on today, and make something funny out of it.

@BigOnYa were you always up to date on the current events and issues of the time or were there issues that you first found out thru south park
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Most of the time yea I knew, I watch and read the news regularly, but sometimes the Hollywood BS stuff, like concerning actors slip by me. I don't follow most Hollywood BS (example: the Kardasians)

  • S @ salazarcosplay:
@BigOnYa there were relevant issues before south park was made, that's why i think a south park prequel/spinoff would be great. Randy and his friends in their child hood

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea, like them running in high school together, getting into stuff, and how they got hitched and had kids. And how the town of South Park was back then compared to now. That would be cool to see.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
    yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@salazarcosplay if they made a prequel, it would still be about current issues, cause it doesn't make sense to make it about stuff that happened 30 years ago that nobody cares about anymore
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's too late
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the older south park episodes about particular issues usually age poorly since the topic is no longer relevant

an exception is giant douche vs turd sandwich, that's always relevant :P
