Retro City Rampage "Big News" Trailer 2012 from Vblank on Vimeo.

This has been a very long time coming, it initially started off as Grand Theftendo (which was started 10 years ago) which was a NES demake of GTA 3 and then the developer went quiet for a long while...and then announced this title which ramped the awesomeness up to a million.

Its coming to WiiWare, XBLA, PSN, PS Vita & Steam/PC in May. You can pre-order the PC version now which gives you a DRM free copy as well as one for Steam.

what version to get...

if the PSN(ps3) and Vita version has cross platform play that may be very nice
This sexy bastard deserves a larger screen to play it on!

Pre-ordered it and you get the soundtrack, manual and box art. The soundtrack to it is great.

Jake Kaufman composed it, been listening to his DSi/eShop soundtracks lately.
Actually ended up buying the Mighty Switch Force OST, just a dollar but still.

*Prepares to make a rant about waiting for over a year*
*Sees video*
*Mind blown, again*

If it's gonna be on Vita though, why not iOS and Android as well? I'd love to play it on my Xperia Play. :creep:

One year? Its the indie Duke Nukem Forever (though this will be good) if you include when it started in 2002 when it was a GTA3 demake! I still hope a rom of that appears, he did have it running on NES hardware at one point.

I'm amazed its on so many formats considering its mainly developed one guy (hence the amount of time it took to come out), there'll probably be a iOS/Android version after though. Nice to see it still coming to WiiWare, I'd thought 3DS/DSi eShop would be more viable.

Yea I was pretty surprised the dev didn't drop WiiWare. Didn't want all that porting work to go to waste I suppose.

Had no idea it was only one dude though, respect. :p1ng:

Looks awesome. I'll get it on Steam.

Sucks that it isn't on the 3DS eShop, though. :/

It's mainly due to that the implementation of 3D is kind of mandatory for eShop titles for the time being. DSiware is too low res.
Implementing 3D for a title like this would be very hard, leading to unnecessary development costs.

There was a visual novel released on the eShop that didn't have any 3D.

From the official site:

Supports Anaglyphic 3D Glasses
  • Select Missions Playable in 3D!
So even if some form of 3D is mandatory for eShop titles, looks like that's not the problem here.

Wow I didn't know that, haven't read up on it since a couple of months back to avoid any spoilers.
It's still select missions though.

@soulx Yeah, but it's still pretty taboo.

How do I use the @ feature?
I know that I don't need it because I already quoted him.
