I use NeoGamma to autoboot discs from the Wii Menu, but I was wondering what is better to use for general backup loading?

WiiFlow or CFG USB Loader?

I always use WiiFlow, I've had no compatibility issues whatsoever. Tried GX once, a few of my games gave me errors.

CFG loader is the best one...it has the highest compatibility, more options than you can poke stick at, and is pretty easy to use once you have set it up to your liking...

I prefer Cfg since it does everything I want it to and has never failed me. WiiFlow is missing some options from Cfg and is slightly less stable, but has other features like channel launching (which I don't have a need for).

Btw, you'll want a theme for Cfg since the default one isn't that great IMO. You can download them within the loader or from here.

I prefer CFG as well.
But this thread is somewhat pointless, as everyone have their own preferences.
WiiFlow, CFG and GX all works fine, and provides different user experience and features. So its really up to you what you prefer.

If you dont know already, you can install more than 1 loader on your Wii. So Id suggest install all 3 and try them out and see which you like best.

GX and Cfg don't play nice with each other (at least they didn't last time I tried GX) because they both use the usb-loader folder.

Ok, it was a while ago I messed with both cfg and gx at the same time, but it worked ok then. Maybe you can just merge the folders, unless they both use some files with the same names.

Thank you for your opinions, I'll just stick with CFG USB Loader. DIOS MIOS Lite support would be nice to have though, as it's easy to use (when it works properly).

I never tried cfg, so I don't know how it's working or which file it's using,

but usbloaderGX use everything located in x:\apps\usbloader_gx\ folder, I don't see how it can conflict with cfg loader.
even if it used the same folder, I don't think they are using the same configuration filename.

But, if you used an old version of GX, it used x:\config\
If you still had your configuration files in that folder, it still use it.
Just delete or move everything to apps\usbloader_gx folder and it will not conflict anymore.

Good to know. Back when I last tried it (that was a long time ago), the covers and configuration files where both stored in FAT:/usb-loader/

Postloader.

Lemme know when others can play wii games, launch homebrew and wiiware from emulated nand, and boot gamecube games from DML in the same process, ok? :P

(wiiflow and CFG look fancier, though).

USBloaderGX can launch (almost) all that.

The Homebrew are in a specific menu (homebrew launcher), and everything else is listed on the same place :
Wii games (disc or usb, not SD), GC (disc or DML), Nand channel on real nand, Nand channel on emulated nand.
Things it's not doing : launching homebrew on emulated nand.
Thing it can do now that Postloader can't (yet) : play banners animation.

But it's not an important feature.

Just try all the loaders and decide what you prefer.
Like said, you can install (copy on SD) all of them and alternate when you want.

Are we still going with this? Lol :L I made my decision on what to use and I'm sticking with it.

Can a moderator please lock this thread or we can just keep going and see where this eventually ends up.
