Hardware Is a ps3 3.55 worth more than one with current firmware?

Its worth more without a doubt just not a lot. You can sell it with par with a new console i'd say so around 300$ for a 250gb system. If it would not be hackable you'd have trouble selling it for 200...

Stupid in your eyes maybe but not for most people. I'm not touching my PS3 until I can jailbreak it (though I'm stilll buying games. just bought Infamous, Dark Souls and FFXIII)

i would think its worth more. i wouldn't sell mine for less than $500 and that's without anything, just the machine, controller and 250gb internal HDD (probably would leave the stuff on there). The external 1tb is mine, unless the price is right.

That's my opinion and what its worth to me. I basically would be figuring if this is sold, I will never be getting another PS3 again unless some new hack comes along. So it's worth more to me. I would price it at $600. Double the price for insane amount of access to games, shit even if you didn't want to download games, you could subscribe to gamefly and rip the games you get. sure its piracy, but who's gonna know?

Ok then, so my DS Lite should be worth tons more because I can use a flashcard on it, my Wii is worth more because it's softmodded, my PS2 is worth more because of FMB, my GBA is worth more because of my flashcard, my 360 is worth more because it could be flashed.
