Gonna have to troll ya a bit here, but why the fuck would you want franchise that is so stellar that its almost classified as a genre of its own, to suddenly end? I bet 90% of us ALWAYS have atleast one Zelda game in our top 10 favorite lists. I don't know if you know this... but we don't get many Zelda clones these days, or ever. So why wish the end of something that people love? Do you NOT enjoy the franchise?
"Boy! Gee willikers! I really enjoy these games so much! I hope they can them! Smileyface." Just shut up...
And for your information... That "timeline" was just fan-service crap. It DOES NOT shape the Zelda theme or future games. The creators/producers THEMSELVES acknowledge story flaws, and they also blatenly admit to making the game 1st, and then tacking on story after. Zelda HAS NEVER prioritized story and neither should you. Theres not a pony clip in my repritoir that can describe the amount of stupidity and ideas that damn book has created amonst people who call themselves "fans" and just don't get the series they claim to love.
Believe me, if the creator/company really cared about story in a Zelda game, they wouldn't break off the story into 3, yes, fucking, timelines. Not even Back to the Future, a movie about godamn time travel, didn't break into more than 2 alternate futures. Why? Because its bad writing. So next time you think of using Zelda and Story in the same sentence, and not commenting on just one game, just shutup.
Zelda is one of the most enchanting, stellar, and just downright funnest franchises to ever survive 25 years. It has written time and time again, many epic gaming experiences, unforgetable music, mesmarizing imagination, and permanent memories. To say that I'd want any of that to end and be forgotton amonsts myself or the newest generation of gamers is spitting on the franchise. It just doesn't make any feasable sense why anyone would want any franchise from the Golden age of gaming to just stop. "Well the story is getting too..." - Just shut up, and then shut up some more.
No one wishes the death of any franchise they enjoy. I LOVE Dr. Pepper. America has been enjoying it for well over 100 years, I've been enjoying it for over 20 years, I'll be expecting to enjoy it for the next 80 years, but I don't go, " I love this, but it tastes the same, they took this flavor as far as it can go, they should get rid of it"
Bottom line: If you enjoy playing a game, theres no reason to make up personal excuses to why you somehow don't want to play it anymore. Especially Nintendo franchises. As successful, as fun, and as pristine a Mario, Zelda, Metroid, or any other Nintendo-made game may be, they happen to be the absolute BEST at what they set out to accomplish, and unfortunately, don't recieve nearly as many clones/immitators as one might expect.
And of all things... Story is just a stupid reason. Do you think that story conclusion ever stopped more sequels/spin offs? Not when theres money and notoriety involved. Zelda games always make big splashes at game cons and release dates, and Nintendo is not going to just "kill" that just because they're worried about some inconsitencies.
Of course you can think/fell how you want, and I can't change your opinion of Zelda, but I'd imagine a true Zelda fan can't be able to understand why you'd ever come accross that thought or idea to see an end to a franchise for something as minescule and meaningless as story.
