The box art makes it look interesting.
This looks interesting. The two things going against it is the fact that I cannot read Japanese yet and it's a Lamefuck release.
What's wrong with lamefuck ?

usually his/her/their nfo bashes other groups and gbatemp for no apparent reason

is the game playable without knowing japanese?

No it's not. It's not really a game. It's like WarioWare DIY except with a lot more text and the games can be full on 30+ hour RPGs if you wanted them to be.

Sounds awesome...if you know Japanese. Is there anything like this in English?

Downloaded this game 3 weeks ago and gave up on it after about 10 minutes. You basically just create your own RPG by creating Characters, weapons, armors, skills, enemies, game maps, etc, and you can play them yourself or send them to other people. It takes a pretty long time to create a decent RPG, but if you're into these kinds of games and your understanding of Japanese is good, you could give it a try.

Well, that's the RPG Maker for you. :P
But yeah, although this one is pretty nice I'd prefer the PC ones.

RPG Maker VX for the PC.

Though I would much rather have RPG Maker DS+.

I think this would be awesome if there was a menu guide. Seems like a 2D version of Dream Studio on the dreamcast. That was fun, and easy enough to use with a menu guide. As long as the keyboard lets you put in english letters, you can make a game on it.

Except VX doesn't support 64-bit Windows, which is becoming more and more common. VX Ace was released in Japan not too long ago, and the English version should be out soon (no date has been announced, but they HAVE announced that they're workign on it).

PC versions of RPG Maker will always be superior in the fact that they do not have space restriction. Regardless, I will check this one out and see what the differences are.

Do you mean x64 compatibility, or support to utilize the extra stuff in x64? If compatibility, VX does work. I have it running on my Windows 7 x64.

Anyway, I agree that it would be better to wait until Ace comes out (I refuse to call it VX Ace because it just sounds weird to me) in English. I remember reading somewhere on rpgmakervxace that there is a possible February release if everything goes smoothly.
