So I broke the power switch of my DS lite. I tried desoldering it, but I didn't know that three points already solidified until I pulled out the switch... meaning, three of the points are now gone, and I can't turn it on even if I replace the power switch, for the connecting points are gone... Here's an illustration of what I mean:

And here's the original image showing directions: http://www.consolere...r%20switch1.jpg

I was wondering, that if the light-blue arrows point where the 1st and 2nd points are actually using to turn on the system, then it's possible that I can just bridge everything together and solder a new switch back on. This video here proofs that the last 2 connections don't really matter:

So, do you think my DS lite can be brought back to life?

I believe those points are under (the other side) of the motherboard. I did this to mine when I experienced the same thing. However, you should try soldering other things first, and gain experience on soldering old boards first, or your NDS motherboard would be gone for good.

This is probably still fixable, I would not attempt to power it on any further unless you are sure you fixed it or you may risk damaging other components.
It is a momentary switch, when the top two point (gone and ok) is connected the DS will turn on. The other points have no other purpose other than holding the switch in place.

My ds lite has been dead for a long time already. F2 fuse and F1 fuse was blown. I bridged them, and it fixed. Then the L2 piece blown, and I bridged it and fixed. Then somewhere below the battery connector, a piece was gone. Bridged it and fixed. Now from an attempt to replace power switch,I killed it. xD

Then, you learned in the same manner I did. Killing a DS Lite

Look for a defective DS Lite (giving white screens, etc) since you live in USA, you should get one with ease. Replace Screens, touchscreen, buttons, look for blown fuses on the new board, and done. This way I could fix my dead DSLite for $35~40 just to be traded for a PSP

Yeah...I tried looking for broken ds lites on ebay, but most of them cost around $40 + cost to repair, which is more than buying a refurbished one on dealextreme... So I'm going to have to see if any of my friends have a broken ds lite and "steal" one off of them xD
