In Mexico we can say "It fetl from the truck, so I take it as it was in the floor and I found it!!!" (there was a legitimate case of a transport truck with the doors in the back not properly closed, and boxes witht the content fell and taken by the passing people)

No, actually, my dad says one of his friends used to do that.

Well, before people caught on.

Edit) I've asked my dad about it, and he says I got the idea from his friend that used to do that, and applied it to school after we moved while I was in first grade. I told the teacher it was my birthday on some date, which just happened to be the next day, and the next day rolled around and they were having a little cupcake party for my 'birthday'. I told the teacher "I didn't say *date*! I said *date that was the next week*!" and I just kept doing it until a parent-teacher conference sorted it out.
