So I am buying a new cart last time was about 1 1/2 years ago. I am now looking for one with DSi mode...if we have made any strides to that in the community. I know they released the cyclo evoi a long time ago. How is it from anyone that owns it? Also is it the only cart now?

Make sure to get a R4i Gold 3DS that says www.r4ids.cn on the front sticker of the flash card, if you go decide to buy that kind of flash card.

These are the cards which you can opt for:
acekard 2i
r4i gold 3ds
supercard dstwo

He wants something that runs in DSi mode, not just DS mode.

And no, the only card that supports that mode is still the iEvo. Unless you have Sudokuhax (or an equivelant),

I've got an Acekard 2i, and it works fine with DSi-enhanced games.
It runs in them DS-mode.
True, but who REALLY uses DSi games anyway?
there are DSi only games and your Acekard wont run them so you cant claim it does
He said DSi-enhanced games ran fine, but he never said they ran in DSi-mode.
I don't see anything wrong with his post except for the fact it's kinda off-topic.

Regardless of what you use them for, the OP wants DSi mode.
Which is why I told him to get the iEvo in the first place. Didn't even read the entire thread, did ya.
I did. I just thought it was stupid of you to mention the Acekard running in a way that would be of the OPs standards, then saying that what he wants isn't useful.

well perdonnez-moi, I don't try to be stupid. I just said that it ran DSi-enhanced games. Last time I checked, that was a perfectly legitimate statement. So it may be in DS mode, but it runs the games.

Guys. Stop confusing the OP D:

Anyways, the iEVO is the only cart that can run games in DSi mode, but it's quite overpriced, and there are cheaper (but not DSi-mode) carts with better compatibility, although, the wont run in DSi-mode. Unfortunately, It could be your only option

You have 2 choices if you want to run DSi-mode software

-Some form of DSiWareHax
-CycloDS iEvolution

Depending on what DSiWare you have, and what firmware you're running, the first option may not be availible to you.

if you want a great ds-mode flash kit with dsi-mode homebrew support, then get an ievo. otherwise, if you want it for any other single reason, don't bother. the ievo doesn't work on the new dsi firmware in ds-mode. the ievo "compatibility layer" which is said to run ds-mode software with the faster cpu and increased ram, is a complete joke. it never worked right and the team disappeared before attempting to release 1 single update for it. the same can be said the the homebrew "compatibility layer". i could go on and on about the ievo's issues but i recommend you read my review instead. found HERE.

with that said, very few dsi roms were dumped correctly. so even if you are running in dsi-mode few real "dsi" roms will even work. read THIS for more information about "enhanced" roms.

the dsi exploit that cyclops purchased and used has many limitations. you will never be able to use WIFI, and there is no way around it. the dsi locks out specific hardware after anything runs in slot-1. if the rom which has been loaded lacks a feature then that feature will never be available. it just so happens that the exploited rom used for dsi-mode does not have WIFI and it is the only known exploitable rom.

if you can get one really cheap then pick it up and try it out. its great for dsi-mode homebrew, but really, i can't find a use for it when so many other great ds-mode flash kits exist.
