After playing this game for two weeks I look at how many coins you need to unlock everything (20,000) and how many I have (2,000) so I didnt wanna bother with grinding for coins and just have everything unlocked already so I can get to the fun of customizing and race with how I like.

Is there a 100% save for this game?

Even if they did, I would assume it won't work :(

I tried getting a few of those ones off of the R4i save site and they kept showing up as corrupted. Has something to do with the saves being encrypted, right?

So seriously, somebody needs to hurry up and figure this out, I'm in the same boat and getting fed up with my MK7 as well :P

They have integrated at least the Wii's GUI and soundfx. Perhaps they also integrated the Wii's console specific save files for online games?

They can't be decrypted (presently), but you can download and re-upload the raw encrypted save data. At least, I managed to re-upload my nephew's SM3DL save to his cart after I'd completed it myself, and MK7 uses the same encryption method.

Yeah, SM3D Land uses the same encryption.

But why would you upload it and download your own save? LOL

I just don't see what good the raw encrypted data would do since nobody else would be able to use it. I mean, sure, somebody will probably figure out how to decrypt it... but by that point I'm sure we'll have a lot more "100% complete" saves than these people uploading "I beat two races, just uploaded this for the lulz" which really doesn't help anybody.

I was hoping to get the in-game save just to have all the parts. The only bragging rights anyone would have to show would be the online ratings which I assume cannot be copied through save transfering. Correct me if I'm wrong.

That's just your opinion.

And honestly, who gives a crap? It's like saying that using a GameShark to hack your games makes them not fun. Sometimes the fun IS hacking them, I remember I had loads of fun in Super Mario Sunshine when I set the jumping to infinite.

I'd like to see a save that works for everybody just so that it's possible, if you don't agree with downloading 100% saves, don't do it. But seriously, no sense in trolling this thread saying how you dis-approve, go do that somewhere else.

By upload/download I mean flash to cart/copy from cart. I borrowed the game from him (ironically after buying it for him), I didn't want to interfere with his saved games so I erased them after backing up and created a new save for myself.

No, I understand that.

What I mean is, why bother with the R4i Save Dongle site, there's like 12 saves on there. Obviously they don't work because of the encryption, and by the time people figure out how to decrypt it, I'm sure those same people will be much farther.
That's all, I just don't know why people are making the effort to upload these incomplete save files knowing that nobody can use them.

They can use them, because the encryption used is done by the system. As far as copying saves from cart to cart goes, that's fine. We just can't "cheat" by changing values in the saves because, even for the ones we can decrypt, an unknown hashing algorithm exists to block any changes to the values inside the save file.

Wait, what?

I think you're missing the picture here.

You cannot download a save file from one MK7 cartridge onto another MK7 cartridge. You need to decrypt it and then re-encrypt it using YOUR cartridge's key first - isn't that how it is with all 3DS games? And since we can't decrypt MK7 saves yet, downloading other people's save files are *useless*.

Am I wrong? The person who uploaded the file can download it and use it on THEIR game, but why upload it in the first place? Nobody else besides them will be able to use it until a decrypter is written.

It is not necessary (or at least in past saves it is not necessary) to re-encrypt.

Many n00bs on GE decrypt then re-encrypt save files before re-uploading to their cartridges however I've tested transferring an OoT save file and it worked without re-encrypting. There's a chance Nintendo implemented changing keys (before SM3DL all save files keys were the same for individual games ie OoT had only 1 key, Ridge Racer had only 1 key, etc OR it did not check the keys). There was 1 report of a successful save file "backup" of a SM3DL save being transferred to another's copy, and MK7 uses the same encryption (but of course a different key).

Yes, you're wrong. The key is the same for every cartridge containing the same game; your MK 7 key would be the same as my MK 7 key. Having a different key per cartridge would greatly increase production costs because you'd be re-encrypting and writing different data to every game card produced.

Fine... can you prove me wrong by providing a save file that works on a USA cartridge of MK7? I've got the R4i save dumper, that's how I tested the other ones. The few I tried said they were corrupted.

I don't care how completed the save is, I just want to see actual proof that you can use MK7 saves on other game cartridges...

--EDIT--

Actually, you know what... never mind.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZxLkaCaDRE

There's all the proof you need right there that you can NOT take saves from MK7 and put it on any cartridge but your own.

So why are people still uploading their saves? Seriously guys, wait until someone's figured it out first. We'll have more actual completed games by then anyway.

I remember that you had at that time 2000 coins... Still the same now?

I dont really care to go for the 20,000 coin limit. I rather get someone's gamesave and just play with all the karts avaliable. Is that too much to ask, its not like I'm asking for infinite blue shells or something.
