Everyone here has at least heard of Bandai, right? Even if you're like me and anime isn't really your thing, it's still a pretty big and recognizable company.

Well, it turns out that they will no longer be distributing new content in North America.

No, really.

Due to problems with the Japanese branch of the company, Bandai Entertainment (NA branch) could not sell their content at reasonable rates, which lead to increasingly poor sales. It seems that they could just no longer afford these costs.

Here is a list of the discontinued shows and books.

Anime:
Gosick
Nichijou
Turn A Gundam

Manga:
Code Geass: Renya
Kannagi volume 4, 5 and 6
Lucky Star: Boo Boo Kagaboo
Mobile Suit Gundam 00I
Nichijou
Tales of the Abyss: Jade's Secret Memories
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
Volume 7

Novels:

Code Geass R2

I can see why, It's sad though... Nichijou and Gosick was awesome, The Manga they release is not half bad.

Note: Turn A gundam was Not a good series for me.

Uh, guys? I don't know what the OP and source are trying to pull, but Bandai Entertainment just licences stuff for US release. They have nothing to do with actually making it. Those discontinuations, so called, are just not getting any official US releases.

To restate, neither Namco Bandai nor Bandai Visual are closing down, and nothing is being cancelled. This is not the end of Gundam. Someone change the thread title before more people freak out.

(And I don't see why you would care, my copy of Gosick says TV Tokyo in the corner. Most people get anime from unofficial releases anyway)
