i got this PSP slim whit TA-085, and 02G module. i have researched about, and it's form the first slim PSP's

Is already hacked but i want to know which is the best firmware for it. And yes, i'm talking about downgrading if necessary.

so i want to know what is the best firmware for it, or a good reference site for knowing what are the latest firmware for any PSP, i have been doing this for various friends and im always unsure of the latest for any PSP model (the scene is very entropic in newest and older blogs/forums treads and i give so much time in research)

thanks.

6.20 PRO-B10 with it's permanent patch, or 6.60 PRO-B10 with it's permanent patch. They work different ways (the first is a new way that works on all PSPs and allows booting into OFW if needed by holding select on startup, the second is the older CIPL method that's used with older firmwares/models) but are functionally the same (perhaps with differing PSX compatibility, but I'm not sure on that).

M33 is old and not updated, based on a firmware from over two years ago. PRO is new with new features and under active development, running on the latest firmware. This is rather a "duh" moment.
Yeah this and also easiest so set up. You just add update file from PC to PSP and run it.

So they have a 6.60 perma now? I'm running 6.20 Pro-B10 at the moment. Any real reason to upgrade to a 6.60 perma?

I mean like is there any PS1 or PSP games that will run in 6.60 that won't run on 6.20 Pro?

6.60 PRO-B10 fully flashed is only for fully hackable PSPs for example: PSP 1000 PSP 2000 except for the TA-088 V3 motherboard.
6.20 PRO-B10 with the permanent patch is aimed for semi hackable PSPs for example: PSP 2000 TA-088 V3 Motherboard, PSP 3000 and PSP Go.

sorry for the "duh" moment, but initially i was stuck whit a PSP 2000 TA-088 V3 so i didn't give a s**t about all those stuffs.... until i got my hands on this "non TA-088 V3 PSP", and now I'm overwhelmed for all the outdated forum information. and how CFW's developers doesn't have websites for announcing and posting updates on their works (this could make things more easy as the NDS scene, but i know why they do this though...).

But I'll take your advice and investigate on PRO because i suppose (hope being right) that sticking whit an old firmware as any 5.xx is not the best option for being update, as happened whit my other PSP.

So, hey thanks :)

Two questions for anyone:
I have two PSP SLIM.

one is my old TA-088 V3 which has the 5.03 HEN patch for Gen-C + prometeus-2 (i suposse PRO stands for prometeus, someone confirm me this) for 6.20 PRO, i need to update to OFW 6.20 and use a intermediate as Gen-C?

The other is my not so new SLIM which is not a TA-088 V3, but i got it whit CFW 6.37 ME-6, how good is this CFW to 6.60 PRO-B10? because i never heard of it before.

Actually modern CFWs can run on every PSP. Even the Go. On any currently-existing firmware, even.

Yeah PRO is for prometheus. Just update to 6.20 and run the PRO installer and then the permanent patch.

ME's the 6.x testing CFW, so to speak. It's comparable to PRO, but it's recommended beginners stick to PRO for it's developed features.

1. You need to update OFW to 6.20 then add 6.20 pro. If you want to update from 6.20 to 6.xx pro, then you can just change txt file.
2. Pro CFW's are newest with newest features which is great and easiest to set up. And you can swich to ofw whenever you want by just resseting the console. then booting it again for CFW.
