Hello tempers,

I can buy a PSP Go from someone for just 30€ but he says the PSP Go doesn't play games anymore. You can get to the home menu and such but booting a game is not possible. I want to ask if his PSP Go has a software brick and how I can possibly unbrick it. Thank you.

That's not a brick as it boots. That's also not enough info to ascertain if it actually has something wrong with it.

It's likely that you will be able to save it this way or another as long as it "boots". As the others stated, it would be really nice if you told us exactly what happens when games are being booted - does it display an error code? Does it just freeze? What happens?

I don't know exactly what happens when games are being booted. He said games just don't work and he don't know why. I asked him for more details but haven't recieved a reply yet.

Still, what could possibly be the reason that games don't work? I don't know how the PSP Go works internally. Does a documentation about PSP bricks and problems exist?

It's sort of hard to diagnose something without knowing the symptoms. As far as a "database of bricks and semi-bricks" is concerned, most people just use Google. When they know the symptoms.

Still, what could possibly be the reason that games don't work?

He's on OFW and trying to run unsigned ISO's
He's on CFW and has bad ISO's
He's on CFW and using an incorrect ISO driver
He has games in the wrong places on his internal memory
He's lost the license file for his PSN purchased games
etc etc.....

Until he tells you what firmware it's on, what he's done to it in the past, what's caused this problem, what games he's trying, where he's put them, whether he's messed around with anything "risky" etc etc....you're in the dark.

It's not bricked though.

I'm pretty sure it's not bricked, and fixable. I'm likely thinking he just is trying to run downloaded ISOs on OFW.

HE might also have changed the ISO loader unknowingly - EASILY fixable.
