As a conservator I am all for wearing fur. I also am for farm raised fur. As long as its non endangered animals being used in those farms. the only problem I have with fur wearers are the ones who obviously don't care to take care of the fur, which disrespects the life of the animal the fur was taken from. this lack of care generally causes an earlier disintegration of the fur. For fur from endangered animals this is even more troubling for me as any chance to keep the fur long term and possibly use it say for cloning or gentetic research is gone when the fur is gone.
i have no problem with wearing it as long as you can respect it and the possible future (hopefully long-term) use it could go through.

As to the campaign... there is supposed to be somehting about being in just your skin and protesting the use of other critters skin in a neglectful way that syas more about the protest. If you like the way they look then you should like the look of the fur on its orginal critter (don't buy new fur by old nicely preserved fur) and let the animal it came from stay alive.

What the hell? That's not a furry. That's a catgirl. I didn't think catgirls yiffed.

The fact that someone does not wear a fursuit does not mean that it's not furry, not in the slightest extent. In all factuality some "furries" don't really like fursuits. Most of them are badly-crafted and simply don't look "sexy" at all, body paint on the otherhand gives you the optical illusion of furry-ness while not adding extra layers of malformed "skin".

...Oh.

My bad.

Anyway, I didn't even know PETA knew what yiffing was, let alone that furries did it.

I believe they derrived this from "Make Love not War" using some of the bizzare Ideology Transfer techniques of theirs. Afterall, they are slightly insane.

I am a member of PETA. I take offence to being called insane. Even the "make love not war" was used by some very specific groups, it just got touted as more symbolic if an age than specific entity in that age.
Don't confuse PETA with "Furries"... After being the only person to keep a 45 person brawl from happening between some "furry" dingus and a PETA activist I can tell you there is a vast difference. the furry dingus had a real nicely preserved wolf head but had a badly kept up wolf fur suit. I would have kicked his ass if he hadn't apologized and asked me for the best place to take care of his suit. As there is a difference between fake fur and real fur I am sure you can appreciate the difference. especially that much fur, almost $3000 worth for some dingus to get dressed up as a wolf. where as 500 at most would have been the cost for the fake stuff (base cost for the fake fur, not the actual work on it).
I would like to point out that I have no problem with him dressing up or with people protesting the wearing of fur as long as its kept "sane".

Screw you budrow. The monkey and the donkey are cartoons so fail... I was talking real actual fur. By and by there is an actual effort out there to buy up the older fur/ viable gentic material for just such genetic heritage. I can proudly say that I am part of that group. That I three times a year wander around looking for material for just such preservation of species.

think of me as a little more radical than PETA. Its one thing to protest its another to actually go and take it the steps further my friends and I are taking. There will come a day when cloning may restore certain species to life, I want to be part of that even if it is a small part.

Keep any of your shit Jurassic park comments to yourself.... this may be in the EOF but this how I live my life.

first thing they teach you in conservation is that everything changes. Part of our job as conservators is to understand that change and to control the way change happens to be beneficial towards preservation (of said historic object(s)). It will eventually fall apart, do what you can with it before it does....

*ahem* I've told him a few times that his quirky sense of humor doesn't come across too well online.
I assure you he said it with a smile and meant no offense.

I was about to edit my post to:

I can see how you might think it funny that someone with a monkey donkey pic like that would talk like that about stuff. As a member of a peta and as a furry though, I was talking real actual fur...

But you are just too fast for me Vulpes. (not apologizing  )

WOW. You lost me in expert time. I must say, that had to be the quickest I've ever stopped reading any post online ever. Well done!

I'm pretty sure you don't actually *know* what PETA's doing behind the scenes, I would suggest looking into their shady buisnesses, leaving and joining a different group... perhaps one that's not associated with terrorism and doesn't murder thousands of animals yearly.
