Hacking Ideas about Wii no signal.

Hi,

I'm really having a bad day.....need help...

My Wii all of a sudden decided to give me a black screen.
Does anybody know what the cause could be?

I have bootmii in boot 2, and priiloader installed but can't acces them because the lack of signal....

Since you can't access Bootmii, I'm saying a hardware issue. Can you turn it on with your Wii remote?

Does your power button light change color when you press it?
If you remove the sd card, do you see a blue flash around the dvd drive slot?
Can your remote sync with the wii in that state?

I hear that a defective bluetooth module inside the wii can cause such behavour.
Something to try would be removing the power cord for several minutes.

Thanks guys , I'm able to get to bootmii again, but lost my NAND dump...
I'm unable to boot HBC, wich is strange....

Some ideas?

It happenend after a bad USB loader GX boot and I had to power off my Wii.
Now it gives this problem.

I'm thinking corrupted nand or screwed up SM somehow...or a Bleutooth problem..
Any help is appreciated...

Use the armboot.bin and ppcboot.elf from this zip file and see if you can load the HBC.

Maybe, you could backup your nand on your sd card and check it with the showmiinand/showmiiwad program. No matter what you do, having a restore point is never harmfull.
Since your wii has bootmii as boot2; you are able to recreate a nand from scratch. I vagely remember something called Ohneschwarzenegger from giantpune.
Since you can power your wii from your remote, I doubt there is something wrong with your bluetooth module.

Yes I once used that program. But I'm still hoping there a simpler solution or a method to boot apps that can manage the Wii files on NAND.
Also I'd really want to know what caused this, but first make it work again....

Edit: using Ohneswanzenegger now...hope it works..
Edit: Installed a fresh Nand made with Ohneswanzenegger and hacked Wii again.

Everything works as it should again...
Still I'm very interested about how this could happen...
Could it be USB loader GX related?

Hopefully not because it's my favourite loader, or could it be that nand emulation full/ partial with d2xv7 causes some isseus?
Anyone with thought or speculation about this please post.

USB Loader GX has been known to brick wii's. I don't understand why people still use it. It's been doing this type of crap for well over a year now.

Future reference, use wiiflow or CFG loader instead.

apparently ppl are claiming the newer versions of usb loader gx are really stable and also has a lot of extra features. I'm going to check it out myself eventually and if I'm impressed I'll probably add it to ModMii

It is much more stable now, although I still prefer using Cfg since I get more options that way, plus I just don't like the way GX looks. Cfg has never failed me before, except in cases where no loader worked (my new HDD doesn't seem to like dual-layer games).

The reason GX was so unstable before was because none of the releases were official. IIRC, anybody who wanted to could make changes to the source code.

I liked and was a cfg user all the way not to long ago, but the GX team really did an outstanding job on the latest stable release!
All options are available through it's gui. I think it even has more options than cfg.

who knows what caused this....could just as well be my Wii or other apps I used in the past. I mean USBLGX did't even boot....
