Does anyone know where I can find, or if it's possible to extract the banner that shows up when a Gamecube game is inserted in Wii's optical drive?

I would like to make a forwarder channel for NeoGamma, using that banner.

Thanks.

Edit:
Solved.
See post #7 below.

DONE!
I was able to combine the following from various channels created by other people:
- forwarder dol
- banner
- icon

The result is a thing of beauty.

Sure.
While looking for Wii's Gamecube Disc Inserted banner, I stumbled upon a recreation of the Gamecube's bootup animation (including sound), made by others. I realized that the Wii's actual GCN animation is too bland, since it is static so I decided to use that, and an icon from yet another channel, which alternates between a big GCN logo and another one with the "Nintendo Gamecube" branding below.
There are no signatures or extraneous graphics in either.

The icon is from this channel (the "animated" in that topic)
The banner is from this one
The dol came from FIX94, on the post below.

I'll see if can upload a video in the next couple of days.
In the meantime, if you want to try it, you can download the channel from here:

Kudos to the creators of the other channels.
I simply combined their elements.

Hi themanuel, very nice channel, I like it :) BTW you should use another forwarder dol because the current one can only load from sd. I just compiled one based on my v11b no args forwarder, use it instead:
NeoGamma Fowarder.dol
Loads from the same locations than the other dol, just with more support.

Hey FIX94.
It's good to see your in the forum again.

I was familiar with your source code, but I'm not set up to compile it, or have the knowledge to do it, so thank you for providing that dol.
I've replaced the dol in my channel with yours and now even loads a bit faster, besides the added ability to look for the NeoGamma app in the USB drive.
I've edited my posts above so that the download link leads to the updated channel wad.

On an unrelated note, do you think both Crap and Loadstructor are dead now?
If so, I would like to consult you on a few ideas on how to be able to create working game shortcuts for the newest wiiflow revisions.

Best Regards.

Hi, that's afaik not possible, because the latest wiiflow doesn't support arguments.

That pretty much deals a death blow to the whole concept.
Do you know why argument support was dropped?
I can't see a way around it without arguments.
Maybe I should use configusb for the shortcuts.

Yep, it's about size. Wiiflow is dollz compressed, that saves space. Arguments are also not needed anymore because wiiflow finds all needed files by itself, no need for arguments anymore. But yeah that makes it a bit problematic for custom game channels.

How much size are we talking about? If it's a few megabytes, it is not worth dropping such an useful feature like arguments, even in a 2GB SD card.

If I try to move onto or off this channel whilst on the system menu (pressing the + and - buttons) my wii freeze's.

Anyone able to help with this.

I confirmed last night that it happens to me too.
I had not noticed before because I never move through banners in that fashion, but it is an annoyance.
I'll look at CanadaX21's possible solution, but if he wasn't able to fix it, I don't know how much success I'll have.
By the way, CanadaX21, thanks for sharing that banner. It is awesome.

Is there a way to edit tpl's directly?
I use GimpShop but it doesn't recognize tpl's.
I can convert to png and edit that, but it would be best to avoid conversions.

Awesome!
The one time I edited a banner, the animation ended up out of sync with the sound and the quality of the images degraded. I'm sure it was my noobness.
I think it is in more capable hands now.

Thanks, FIX94. I'll test it shortly.
Also, I don't know if this is within your ability to fix (no pun intended), but the icon does not fill up the rounded screen shape completely and leaves vertical white gaps on the sides.
Have you noticed that?
