I have been holding back on playing Rare games such as Donkey Kong 64, Banjo Kazooie, Banjo Tooie, and Conker's Bad Fur Day. I do own a N64 and these games but I would much prefer to play them off the Wii and have the comfort of using a GC controller and not have to deal with all the setup of the N64. The reason I ask this is because I went on their main page and they said there will be an update soon to the emulator but what I wasnt sure was if this update will fix the compatibility on most N64 games? If it will not then I guess my choice would be to get my old system out (I rather not have to if there will be an update eventually.)

I personally think they'll not update the emulator anymore. And I also don't think the games will ever come for virtual console because of their shitty copyright fights :P

I went to the homepage last week and they are on about an update that allows the use of high definition custom texture packs however that was posted at the end of September with nothing since.

However I was playing Goldeneye and Perfect Dark and although the sound is terrible wii64 did perform admirably.

I could suggest trying to inject the roms to a n64 VC wad... but it turns out that rare's games are unplayable with this method :(

A lot of games are perfectly playable with Wii64 and I'm sure we're all happy and grateful for that. For sure, it's better to play on the real console when you own the games.

Personnaly, I'd be very happy to play crash team racing on wiisx without missing graphics, because after house moving you could lose some things.
Well, we can be optimistic for improvements since they're real good coders. If they're not interested anymore, you'll have to learn and do it yourself for us I'm afraid...

you can play the banjo games on wii64 but the fps is a killer especially on the BIG levels.
I was able to play through the first one all the way through with just a few graphical problems. The 2nd one I couldnt get past the 2nd or 3rd world because of a DSI error. As far as DK64 goes I cant even play the game at all because of the opening sequence. If I were to get a save that is past the intro would I be able to continue playing?

Do you have proof? They never said they'd stop development. Heck, even Zsnes is still under development. Find evidence before making slanderous claims.
The only claim he made is what he personally thought. He didn't say that they definitely won't be updated, but that her personally thinks they won't.

You want proof that the thought actually occured to him?

On a more serious note: it's not that uncommon of a thought. The last update is from September, and since then it has been pretty much radio silence (that I know of). It's not like the developpers are required to cram out a "still working on it" every so often, but it wouldn't hurt the perception that things are still active.

But you know how expensive such a device is I suppose? You can also think about it to use a emulator on pc and then send it via VNC to the wii ;)

I dont know what you mean, there was no lag issue for me. The only issue that ever came up was certain areas would flash white every so often. Besides the graphics it ran smooth.

I tried VNC with a decent connection, and the lag totally kills it =/

Just connect your PC/ Laptop to your HD tv and play in 1080p through Project 64. Much easier. and free.
