Gaming Mario kart 7 unlockables glitch?

Hello​

I have 1,800 coins in Mario kart 7 and don't know if my game is bugged because I am missing more than 3 unlocks (which is supposedly all I have left to get)
I am missing
-The swooper
-The soda jet
-Sponge tires
-slick tires
-Egg Kart 1
-Kart 7
I read that the next unlocks will be at 2,000 2,500 and 3,000
I am guessing that I did not get them while I was playing online, I only got one after restarting my game..
Help appreciated to know if I have to exchange my copy

The unlocks you get are random. You unlock random parts after beating the grand prix(s), along with the coins of course.

The general consensus among players is that yeah, the parts are random. But the coin milestones are supposedly consistent, which has me a little worried

You also unlock things depending on your Grand Prix ranks. 1 Star for each cup gets you something. Same goes for 2 and 3.

Getting at least 1 star on all cups gets you the gold tyres. Apart from that, you can only unlock characters in 150cc. Everything else is unlocked by coins, I believe.

Go into the MK7 channel, click the bottom right button, and it tells you how many coins you have. The bar looks big enough to go up to 5000, so you should unlock something at 2000, 2500, 3000, 3500, 4000, 4500, and 5000. Massive grind. The worst part is that you need to unlock certain parts to be half decent at time trials.

Is anyone actually that far along? I feel that the guides would amend themselves if they got parts past 3500.. I'm going to grind out there and post my results since no-one seems to know for sure
