hello to all,
have some request about MAME for Wii:

- Classic controller works ? (on wiibrew is not mentioned, but on forums i found different informations)
- exist any forwarder that allow run specific rom ?
- if not exist, is possibile to set an autorun rom ? (when run emulator, it starts a rom by default)

Want to build an arcade controller starting from Ikea BRADA, my final goal is an object like this:
(better if i can :] )

Thank you for reply,
basic idea is to disassemble a classic controller and wire coinup joystick and buttons.

Used controller is about 14€ in europe (10-12 $) so is not an expensive experiment.
I'm searching info before start, so ask there.

find some interesting selfmade joystick around, but can't find this idea anywhere,
so decide to build one from strach.

Anyone know if mame wii source is avaible or any team member is disposed to talk about
'autorun rom' feature ?

thank you for any info,
m.

Erm...Toad King is the whole team, so I guess he is disposed to talk about it if he permits himself that freedom. :P

I don't really get what you're asking, though. Once mame is loaded, you can control everything with just the buttons. So you can just as well choose the ROM you want to play (are you really going to play one single rom EVERY time you start it?).

For the record...for someone with such a project, you seem to do an aweful little of research yourself. And take another look at wiibrew: the peripherals are pretty clearly marked (on the right side). I take it you didn't knew there were two versions, but still...

Wever thank you to join,
i know that all is controlled by controls after load, but autoload function allow to use forwarder,
and start immediatly a preffered game, when quit that game you can choose onother game
(think to have wii in an arcade cabinet, power on wii->start game)

Before posting here I read Wiibrew doc and (on the left side) readme doesn't specify Classic Control as supported device,
(only gamecube, wiimote, wiimote+nunchu)

Before disassemble, desolder and working to such type of device, I want to be sure.
And also I know different version, but ask there some info to understand which one is best fo me. (reply to initials requests, please)

thank you all for reading,
m.

If you are actually going to build a cabinet with a wii in it, I would suggest wiring your controller to a game cube controller instead so you don't need batteries for a wii remote. Game cube controllers are also pretty cheap and since it will be hard wired to the system it seems more cabinet friendly. Personally though it would seem to me that if you were going to go through the effort of building a cabinet you'd put something else in it (not a wii) since the compatibility of the wii is limited due to lack of memory.

Just my two cents on the subject.
