The comparisons above are making the rounds on some Japanese sites today. This is really our first look at how the 3DS/Vita versions of Extreme Escape Adventure: Good People Die compare. The 3DS images are on the left while the Vita screenshots are on the right.

There's a noticeable difference between Vita and 3DS, but I honestly don't care for the art style of this game. I preferred what they did with 999 over this and would have much rather had that instead.

The only real difference I see is that the Vita is sharper due to the higher resolution. Maybe some higher-res textures, but that's about it for this particular game.
Totally the opposite for me. But maybe it's just the images' compression playing with my eyes. The one for the 3DS is definitely sharper, else the VITA screenshot is just blown up, which is why it looks fuzzy/softer. Clover's (Yotsuba) cross-shaped pink mark has a distinct border on the 3DS screenshot; the Vita one is just flat pink. also, the brown lines that separate her bangs from her forehead. And the eyes.

Really, now that i'm comparing the screenshots, I really can't be sure how the left one is sharper than the right one. :/

EDIT: lol, which one is the 3DS anyway? I assumed the right one, because the left was taller and i knew PSVita had bigger resolutions. That comparison is entirely unrealistic and bull. lolololol

Shouldn't the images be resized to the real screen size to actually compare them properly? Right now it looks like the resizing blurs the 3DS image. I'm not entirely sure about screen sizes, but isn't the PSV screen bigger than the 3DS?

There's actually a bigger problem here. Not only is the 3DS screenshot blown up and blurred (from 400x240 to 600x360), but the Vita screenshot is shrunk down (from 960x544 to 600x340). We aren't seeing the true clarity of the Vita version. Now, as far as matching the two versions, we aren't going to get a good upscale of the 3DS version without adding the blur, as doing nearest-neighbor up-scaling won't show correct pixel equality.

lol those "comparisons" are so cheap. They're (the sites) clearly in favour of the VITA, having the 3DS screen resized like that, the aspect ratio is sooo off it's not even funny... I've played 3DS games, and they certainly don't look at blurry as the pictures depict, unless Aksys really screwed up which I doubt they would on resolution.

I've played 999 and can say it's on my top 3 list of DS games, I just hope they bring this to the US otherwise I'm gonna be @#!%(#^)^@^ angry.

It's not hard to make a console's game look bad with resizing and blurriness, infact here's my comparison, just to make fun of those guys who posted that image : (3DS on the left, VITA on the right)

See?

Did you use the original pictures (the resized versions) or did you happen to stumble on the original with PSV resolution and 3DS resolution? It's quite simple here really, making an image scaled from 400x600 to 800x1200 without doing anything, the image looks like shit (ie the images above).. This can clearly be seen on the menu texts. Looking at the PSP and the DSL (previous gen consoles), both of them have clear menu textures. Thus your picture is even more biased in favor of the 3DS than the original pictures.

ps. Still the picture on the left looks blurred...

EDIT: The idea of resizing the images to real size would be good, but not having the originals = impossible to resize with actual quality.

lol = point.

I couldn't fix the blurriness obviously. I was just showing it's not hard to make one console picture like the sites made Vita look. I probably should have used an anti-aliasing on the picture for the vita to make it more fair though.

Even so what needs to be done for the right comparison is putting them in original resolutions without blurring either.

Either way, they both look good to me. Seeing them on their screens would probably be better.

It make sense that the psv would at least look slightly better.

Come on guys, you can fiddle around with the images as much as you want, on the systems the Vita version is bound to look better.

Itt's a little blurry on the 3DS size but i think is the resizing doing the trick... and btw is obvious that vita will be better since hd resolution, i still prefer 3DS one tought, it haz 3D...

I was about to respond to this saying that not everyone will notice the difference in the first place.. And thus we have:

3DS looks better.

When they were the same size, the difference is more than clear... Especially if you happen to have a high res screen (possibly around FullHD resolution). But as said before, the 3D isn't visible and can't be judged from that perspective (for those of us who can see the 3DS' 3D effect). Also the PSVita is bound to be more clear since the res is better (if the res is actually in full use).

Seems pretty much the same to me, other than the 3DS screenshot being blurry because it's scaled up.
If that's all the Vita can do... I'm not impressed.

Ever compared the DS and the PSP side by side? If you compare the resolutions, you'll have around the same difference minus the 3D for the 3DS..
