Nintendo 3DS firmware update may hit on November 30th

Wondering when that big 3DS firmware update is coming? We heard it was coming November, but it sounds like Nov. 30th is the date.

There's currently a commercial airing in the UK that shows off new features of the firmware, including the video recording. The commercial states in the fine print that "3D Video Recording update available to download from November 30th". Let's hope that's a worldwide date!

The 3DS update has been delayed in Japan and North America

Nintendo has announced that the 3DS firmware update is delayed for Japan and North America. The update, which was scheduled for a late November release, will now be launching as late as December 8th. There’s no word yet on whether the delay will also be affecting Europe and Australia, but given that it was delayed in two major regions, this seems like a sure thing.

Don't hold your breath. You know how DRM is.

Don't be so quick to dismiss this. I can't remember when Nintendo have ever implemented a DRM system into their media support. But then again, it's the first time a Nintendo device will be able to capture video, and in 3D too. we'll just have to see what format it uses as soon as the update hits.

also, i've known this for a while now (that UK Nov.30 date). i think it was sometime last week when that ad started (read about it over at GameFAQs).

EDIT: shiiiiieeeeeeeeet. i just finished reading that December 8 thingy. i was so hoping by then i'd have 3D recording... (i'm gonna be away for a week for work training)
