I'm going to get me one of those 25th Anniversary Legend of Zelda Ocarina 3DS Bundles that are comming out this Friday.

Since I'll be selling my DSL, I'll need a newer, 3DS compatible flashcart if I want to keep all my homebrew/Game saves.

So I'm asking what is the best 3DS supporting DS Flashcart to get?

I know that I won't be able to play 3DS games on one, I'm only interested in older DS games.

Any suggestions?

I was thinking more along the lines of Acecard, Cyclo Evoi, DSTwo, etc...

I've never really liked R4. Paying 5$ for a flashcart makes me think it'll break within the 1st week

I recommend the acekard 2i, r4i Gold 3ds (make sure it's the one from http://www.r4ids.cn), or the SuerCard DSTwo. The SuperCard DSTwo is only if you want some extra features/capabilities like special homebrews, gba emulation, RTS/RTG, etc, although it's much pricier than the other two. Otherwise, the ak2i or r4i Gold 3ds should suffice. The difference of the two is the firmware used: acekard uses akaio, while r4i Gold 3ds uses wood r4 firmware. The compatibility for all three carts are among the best, and bootstrap updates to counter dsi/3ds firmware updates come fairly quickly.

it doesn't need a DSL/i to upgrade the firmware to play it on the latest 3DS firmware.
Sounds nice for avoiding firmware momentarily...

dstwo and acekard are the best for you
also ISmart MM has a PS1 Emulator
I was not aware of this...

Though I can pretty much expect that PS1 emulator to not be no where near as capable as the PS1 emulation on a PSP, I think I'll just use my PSP for that.

I agree with Rydian,,r4i gold is actually a good card, unlike other r4 clones, this one has Wood made by YWG.However, if you prefer a feature rich card and are willing to spend more money then I suggest the Supercard DSTWO. I did a search just now, and found gamekool was the cheapest place to purchase the supercard dstwo, i was thinking of buying 4 for Christmas presents.

Get a DSTWO, by far the best card for playing DS games and it doesn't need a DSL/i to upgrade the firmware to play it on the latest 3DS firmware.
How exactly do I update it then if not with a 3DS?

I just sold my DSL for a 3DS and Mario 3D Land forced me to update firmware.

I'm currently in the process of DSTwo checkout, but I need to confirm if/how I'm able to update the firmware while having an updated machine

IIRC
>you put the update file on the root of the sd HOWEVER you put a -b at the end of the file name.
>Put it in your 3DS.
>Turn 3DS on.
>Wait 5 or so minutes
>Restart DS.
>?????
>Profit.

I recommend a card from this lovely list of great cards; Acekard 2i, EZ-Flash Vi, Supercard DSTwo, R4i Gold, or CycloDS iEvolution (You don't have to buy from that site, I just like that site myself and always suggest it to people.)
How's the shipping time?
I have ordered from them and my friend recently ordered from them and it only took a little over 2 weeks to get from China to Indiana and about the same amount of time to Massachusetts.

What do you expect from standard mail from half across the world?

I expected 2 weeks for free, not 4 weeks.

And I notice Gamekool and your site forces me to make a login/provide my shipping adresses. Do these places not accept PayPal?

They do, I am not sure why they need an account, but they do use paypal. Also don't use Gamekool, they aren't very good to be honest with you. Every time I used them they took forever and even screwed up my address when I got my Supercard DSonei from them.
I said little over 2 weeks, like a day or two over two weeks, Gamekool takes like 4 weeks honestly.
