Hacking Does the R4i SDHC 3DS support Wood r4

Hello guys, I have an r4 that supports newest games back ups by using Wood r4. However, I would like to use my 8GB MicroSD on it but it doesnt work

I read that the R4i SDHC 3DS supports the Nintendo DS Lite too. I was wondering if this card can use Wood r4 to use latest back ups or not? Thank you, this is the one I want to get by the way:

If you want wood r4 + sdhc cards (4gb or more) support, a r4i Gold 3ds (from http://r4ids.cn) is a much better investment. It has official wood support from wood r4's developer, so the updates come along the original r4's release. Make sure you get the one from the above link because there are some crap-clone that has 'r4i' 'Gold' and '3ds' in their name.

Nope, different one. Images on official website.

You can find some deals on shoptemp. Make sure the cart you buy says www.r4ids.cn in the box or on the cart.

Not the right one. Unfortunately, there are a lot of crap-clones that have the same name, or at least 'gold' or '3ds' in their name.

They usually use modified firmwares and after they make enough profit, abandons their cart. This leaves users with low compatibility to new games and support for future dsi/3ds firmwares. It's better to get a decent flashcart now than getting stressed over an abandoned clone with minimal support.

EDIT: as for online retailers, that's not my expertise, so sorry.

The difference is that first card does not support upgrade to newest console firmware while second does..

Actually the cart she was looking at supports the newest Nintendo 3DS firmware 2.2.0-4 and the www.r4ids.cn does not (the r4ids.cn website lies and they have been contacted since the 13th of this month with no update to their site saying that their card does not support the 2.2.0-4 USA update). I have both of the cards and know for a fact. That card she was looking at, from Amazon is great! No Wood support but she can have dual firmware with Retro Game Fan's kernel and Retro updates just as much as Wood and sometimes faster. I say buy it. You will have a great card

Absolutely, you can play games on both systems! As far as the Wood style goes no, not exactly, but it is extremely similar. You have 3 choices when the r4i-sdhc card boots. They are games/multimedia/ and slot-2. When you choose "a" on the first icon; you go straight to your games. 1 Big difference is there are no global settings with the card at Amazon. This means, you are going to have to apply cheats on or off, dma mode on/off, and soft reset on/off individually for each game in the r4i-sdhc firmware. It's very easy but somewhat annoying but some people like it better. But when you use the Retro Game Fan Kernel in connection with the fore mentioned firmware it will go straight to games and everything else for that matter after selecting the TT-Menu.nds file. It's also very simple. You will know your cards backwards and forwards in a day.

Dude the R4i Gold you're trying to buy is shit. Go for something better like a real R4i Gold(http://r4ids.cn/), an R4i(http://r4idsn.com/), an Acekard or a Supercard DSTWO... By the way, the only three carts with Wood style would be R4i Gold(http://r4ids.cn/), an R4i(http://r4idsn.com/)and an Acekard..

I PM'd you first of all. To elaborate though, that is the R4igold.eu flash card. They're not backed by the Wood firmware. It does support wifi gaming...it just means you can still play games like Mario Kart and still be able to use the online play option ("download play" is the terminology that most flash cart companies use.) All r4i cards are real in the effect that you can play backups on them...they just use different kernels...like the Wood kernel. Quite a few flash cards are considered "bad" because of their updates to the firmware and their updates to the kernel. In other words, if Nintendo puts out 1.4.4 on the DSi, "bad" flash cards release a new card and don't update the firmware to support 1.4.4. This, of course, makes you have to spend more money. Also, if the kernel isn't updated you can't play the newest games. You see what I'm getting at? By the way, I know if a card can or can't run the newest Wood firmware, so you could blame me because I will not steer you in the wrong direction
