I couldn't find any footage of wii gameplay. The only thing I learned is its based on the 3DS version.

Haven't tried WiFi? So are you confirming that there IS a WiFi mode in this game?
There is a 719MB zip (!) file in the wii iso / partition with the WHOLE game content free to modify/extract., so the game is already compressed (1.3 GB uncompressed) and they are using some custom unzip while loading. Also all the game music is stored in a sound directory as pure .OGG files (!) ready to be copied out of the wii iso with wii scrubber. Isn't there any license (fee) involved by using ZIP compression in a commercial product EA? ;-) I would almost think this was an internal test release...
it's decent for a wii racer, better than the other NFS games, also playing with the classic controller is very good. I did not find online / wifi play, multiplayer is splitscreen. The official website (http://www.needforspeed.com/therun ) is stating there is online play, but maybe only for 360 and PS3. The PAL cover does not have a WIFI logo like the US cover.
lol, its for the wii, so no the whole experience will be watered down. i ran it on the wii vs my pc, pc (and ps3/360) version is way better. its like COD for the wii, it really sucks for it.

Not bad graphics for a Wii racer, game wise its broing and really bad it ahs no Wifi, but the rest isnt that bad.

If you're used to playing racers on PS3/Xbox off course this is crap, but if you're only console is a Wii (a fact in my case) then it's looking quite pretty and smooth.
I'll try when it gets a torrent....

Depending on your service provider you may have free access to newsgroups.
Pretty much everything i see on here is listed (albeit only for around 7 days) and you can download pretty much at your max DL speed all the time.
Some people find it a bit fiddly to get into, but i don't really use many other sources anymore.
