Q: You’re bringing Street Fighter X Tekken to PS3, Xbox 360, PlayStation Vita, and now PC. Super Street Fighter IV came out on 3DS, so clearly Capcom knows how to create a fighting game on the Nintendo handheld. Is there a reason you’ve not announced a 3DS version? Or a Wii U version, for that matter?

A: There isn’t any reason in particular actually.

Source?

Also, it could be because Nintendo systems have been completely gipped on fighters for the longest time.

EDIT: Buying a Nintendo system for fighters is like buying a handheld for FPS games. Why even bother?

Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition
Tatsunoko vs Capcom
Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Who buys a handheld for fighters in general, anyways?

Capcom already said that "there was no reason in particular" so I don't see what you're getting at.

@Guild I actually like shooter *better* on a DS than on a PSP and on a Wii better than on the 360/PS3 - it's a matter of taste.

As for the topic, "Why" would be "Tekken" in the title. The only Tekken game that ever came out on a Nintendo system, correct me if I'm wrong, is Tekken Advance, and only because the PSP wasn't out at that time. It's a Sony Flagship, their Airforce One of fighting games, and they have no reason whatsoever to release it for Nintendo consoles, since they're the only competition on the handheld market.

Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition SSFIV: Arcade Edition on Xbox 360 and PS3. With more content. And better graphics. And better online.
Tatsunoko vs Capcom Marvel vs. Capcom 3 outclassed it. Now Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3
Super Smash Bros. Brawl Not a fighting game

Not on that list: Any Soul Calibur that's not II, any Tekken that's not Tekken Advance or the upcoming Tekken games, any Marvel vs. Capcom game, Street Fighter III/the better versions of SSFIV, any Dead or Alive that's not Dimensions.

By the way, not announced =/= not coming. Although I really don't see it coming lol.

I think the title should be changed to avoid confusion.

Meh, it's just another Street Fighter game, Capcom has been rehashing and milking the franchise without adding anything interesting for over a decade, nothing changes, nothing new and exciting has been added, it's still the same old crap it was 10 years ago.

Yet it's still considered the definitive fighter every generation.

Because of the controllers I'm guessing.

The connection doesn't even make any sense.

Which is not all of them because some games on the site only stay on for so long.
Just because we don't get the same games for that genre from other console, doesn't mean there are a lack of that genre as a whole.
Vita probably going to get COD and people for whatever reason, is going to take those things up.

There are making a Tekken title for the 3ds and wii u from the ground up, so that why I figure it wouldn't be coming.
Remind me of this. Which kinda feel it is a troll video. :P
I say that because they appear in one video just to announce
Tekken.

Tbh, I think I like DOA more than I like street fighter.
Is Tekken X SF still coming?

I think street fighter 2 is on wii virtual console.

Sad but true. There are many fighters that are far better than it almost every generation.

Half those games are anime fighters (which are just fan fodder) or trash. You look for any serious tournament fighter and you'll find jack shit. Not a single game that goes on at Evo is on a Nintendo console, minus SSFIV (even then they use the PS3 version).

Which is not all of them because some games on the site only stay on for so long.

That's not true at all. Even then, I'm sure the games they'd take off would be utter shit.

Just because we don't get the same games for that genre, doesn't mean there are a lack of.

Um, lacking some games in a genre means exactly that you're lacking in that genre.

Vita probably going to get COD and people for whatever reason, is going to take those things up.

What does this mean and what does it have to do with anything?

Tbh, I think I like DOA more than I like street fighter.
Is Tekken X SF still coming?

I'm pretty sure DoA is just Tekken but made by giant pervs. And Tekken x Street Fighter should still be alive, but is being made on the Bamco side. It'll probably come out after SFxT

I think street fighter 2 is on wii virtual console.

It is, but it's a bit sad if I have to rely on basically an emulator for my console to get "good" fighting games.

And yes. Nintendo isn't good for fighting games. Maybe because of their viewpoint (children, family, etc video games console)

At least we have Capcom VS Snk 2 on GC and tatsunoko vs capcom. And orochi saga (which saldy goes up to KOF98).

But once again, i'd love to see such game like SF X Tekken to be released on WiiU.

Blazlue, CS2, Cartoon Netowrk Punch time explosion. I can't think of many more though.
Back on the original topic, that's a really vague answer. Might just be simple hardware limitations and laziness to downgrade the models.

Kingdom Hearts is a Sony flagship too, imo, and yet 358/2 Days and Re:Coded still came out on DS after PSP came out and KH3D will be coming to 3DS.

That's actually the answer I expected from capcom.

Why wasn't a SF X Tekken announced? No reason. Either we bring it later on or we didn't make one for the 3DS/WiiU. Simple as that.

But again, I find the title misleading. Sorry if I tend to stress this.

Kingdom Hearts is a relatively "contemporary" game, let's not conscider it a classic. Besides, as stated before, it has nothing to do with Sony whatsoever, Kingdom Hearts is a matter between Square-Enix and Disney. Tekken's been on Sony platforms since PlayStation, the only instance of a Tekken on a non-Sony device I can think of is Tekken Advance, and now Tekken 3D. I'm pretty sure that Sony pays big bucks to keep this series fairly exclusive, as anything with a Tekken label *will* sell.
