Weird little situation I have. Basically I have to wiis modded exactly the same way both had spoofed 4.1e firmware which was reported by syscheck as system menu v54450. I had a problem with one wii a classic White one so decided to use multimod manager to install a 4.3e firmware and re hack using the letter bomb exploit. Now my friend who has a new black wii whose console was hacked in exactly the same way refused to install the 4.3 update via multimod saying there was a 1055 ticket error. I assumed iOS 249 was the culprit so uninstalled it and reinstalled using waninkos still I can't update the console in order to rehack. The reason we want to rehack is cause the wiis are for kids and with that in mind we need priiloader which isn't available for v54450 firmware.

Any ideas

Of course Priiloader works on v54450! All you had to do was use the hacks file that was INCLUDED in the guide you followed. I suggest you just remod it following that guide since you have been messing with stuff that you shouldn't.

Wow...I've seen people blindly misassuming that "teh firmware is where its at", but you take things to a new level.

1. the firmware number you can find in the system menu or in things like syscheck refers to the system menu. And the system menu only. It has ZERO influence over how well games (real or backup) are played. If you bothered to even read a changelog, you would know that nintendo did almost nothing but antipiracy attempts between 4.1 and 4.3. So without even knowing what your original problem was, I can tell you that it wouldn't make a difference.
2. an "official firmware update" not only updates the system menu but your IOS as well. I'm not sure, but I doubt that MMM does that. In other words: you missed on the only interesting part of the way an official update works.
3. say...you DO have IOS80 installed, right? If not...then you should REALLY be glad that non-related issue happened, because you would have downright bricked your wii (the system menu of 4.3 works on IOS80...good luck trying it to run without the proper IOS).
4. priiloader overwrites the system menu. As such, reinstalling/updating the system menu will remove priiloader. In fact, that "v54450" version is probably priiloader instead of the system menu (take a look at the system menu version numbers...they're barely above 500).
5. problems with the ticket number are because you're trying to install something illegal on your wii. Just make sure you use a trucha bugged cIOS and it won't complain.

I could go on about things like how Waninkokos cIOS are outdated now, or that the color of the wii means didly squad, but the bottom line is that you're going the wrong way about things. Please do your homework before you go about these things. A wii isn't hacked in the same way as other consoles.

wow 587 post an you can't figuer out what your doing?...your going to end up buying new wii's you keep messing with them the way you are, an why would you need to "update" a black wii to 4.3? it's allready on that menu v.
easy way to try an "fix" your hack job.. remove prii loader (uninstall from main loader in homebrew channel).. if you don't you'll def brick.. reformat both wii's to factory orginals. one according to you should be 4.1e an the black will be 4.3e.. after refomat. rehack the wii's using mod mii. an follow direction to the letter. i've done this step to mine an many others, i had to fix, after they mess with things they have no idea what they are doing. then use mmm to un stub, an use priiloader channel to reload priiloader(not mmm,or this could brick also). then use modmii to update. on a side note, your using outdated 249... you need d2x... if you don't know what your doing. let someone who does know.

Bad advice man.

The OP should just go right through modmii, but make a nand backup before doing anything else to the wii.

then use mmm to un stub
No need to unstub. As long as IOS236 is installed then you can use that to overwrite the stubs with working IOS's or cIOS's.

Post count means nothing. I've seen more than a few >1'000 posters not knowing how to hack a wii (gbatemp is more than just this section), and I've also known some guys who were giving good advice the minute they signed up here (JoostinOnline comes to mind).

Besides...your advice isn't proving much insight either. If you have any source of a wii bricking because priiloader was already installed, I'd like to hear it. And reformat the wii to factory originals? You're either forgetting the sarcasm brackets, or you haven't spent much time in these sections either. I can easily dig up half a dozen threads were the advice "do not revirginize a wii" is given, in combination with "just treat your wii as if it already were a virgin".

i'm not saying priiloader it self bricks the wii. i'm saying/meening the user bricks his wii because they go an do something stupid, an forget they even have priiloader. an end up bricking.
i've seen post here, with the question on how to fix this( will go grave digging to find to prove a point if needed). an yes post numbers are not that big of a deal, but if you have 200 or more. you should know what to do in certian situations.(playing with intenal program with the wii) granted i'm not the best an i don't claim to be, i just post from my own exsperance an what worked for me. to the OP follow deadly advice, an joostonline.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
