Homebrew coder extraordinaire [m]AlekMaul[/m] has given us another classic game to play on our DS's. This time he's ported Rick Dangerous II, the PC game originally released back in 1990. In this sequel to the Indiana Jones inspired platformer Rick Dangerous, you lose the hat and don a Flash Gordon style outfit to take on an alien invasion. See below for the control scheme, and check out the project's page for more information about this game's initial public release.

Yet again I tip my hat off to AlekMaul, master of oldies!

A beloved game from my Amiga, this is! Thanks again for making this available on the DS (which sadly lacks a good ST/Amiga emulator. ...Ssssh, don't let the hardcore Amiga crowd hear that I'd also like an ST emu!) :D

Fantastic title... I loved to play the original Rick Dangerous on my C64. Truly wonderful.

BTW, from which platform is the game ported? Is it PC version? And any chances of porting Montezuma's Revenege? ;)

From Alek's Rick2 homepage:
This game is from the PC version performed by Foxy , itself based on the Atari ST version of the game (thank you again to him for the source code).
All levels are present and are from the Atari ST version.
The sounds and music are also those of the Amiga version.

This is awesome. I just wish you could change on how to use the grenades in Cannon Fodder though, cause I still haven't managed to use a single grenade in that game. I've read on how to do it, but it's not just working lulz.
Keep these awesome ports coming!

There may not be emulators but luckily a lot of those great titles were later ported to the PC. Would love to see the PC port of Superfrog.

Yeah, that'd be awesome. I guess you can already play it with DSx86, though ;)
