Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has told investors that the company is hard at work creating titles for the Nintendo 3DS that should attract people who are not particularly interested in video games. Apparently several of these titles are already in development and should be coming out next year.

“Aiming for the next fiscal year, we are also working on new genres of software that may attract people who are not particularly interested in video games.”

- Satoru Iwata

How the hell can you attract more people with shovelware?

Zombie pets, Nintendogs, Imagine, those horrible trauma center rip offs, even CSI has its own game. These things rake in the dough. But as for shovelware giants, Ubisoft and EA have the game by its balls.

Easy. Little kids see something with cute animals, princesses, or whatever other shit little kids like, and then they ask their parents, and 99% of the time, the parent(s) buy it. If it makes money for Nintendo, they aren't going to NOT do it. While I agree they should be doing more for their loyal fanbase (I mean, come on, at least ANNOUNCE the remaining GBA games for the Ambassador program), we have to remember that Nintendo is still a corporation, and is about making money. Sony does it, Microsoft does it, *insert game developer/publisher here* does it.

Why is everyone complaining?
It's not like you HAVE to buy the casual games.
The 3DS is about to get heaps of good games, so you won't have to be worrying about shovelware.
Let the idiots buy the shovelware and be happy with it.

the casual games may sale systems but it keeps other 3rd parties and 14+ gamers from taking systems seriously. Nintendo just shot the 3ds like it was a sick horse/Wii.

Since the Wii and later ds got in the hands of people 60 and older.
Just because you don't have an interest in them doesn't mean that they are shovelware.
And if they aren't like the regular games that you play, they are still at the same level as your games, just they are targeted at different audiences.
Seriously, some people consider themselves experts at these things and claim that there are games which are the worst things on the face of the earth, that's how fanboy wars are caused..

edit post amended w/ apology since pic is from source, also everyone should go for the gold till you bleed out your SOMETHING

Why are you implying that Pilotwings Resort is casual ? How long did it take you to perfect landing the jet or hang glider ? I mean, I guess if you don't care about getting golds. That would be a rather weak approach.
