Gaming Got this email from Paypal, not sure if it's legit.

Eh, got this Paypal email today.

And I clicked on the "Verify your account now" and here's what popped up:

I don't know if this is fake or not, or whatever, but if it is, be careful.

If you have any concerns about the e-mail then don't use the link, log in to your Paypal account normally.

PayPal wouldn't send an e-mail like that, they would just freeze your account without warning and expect you to do all the hard work.

"Thankyou for help us to verify your account"
Yeah that sounds like scammers.
Anyway check who sent you the email.
It's obviously fake.

It's 100% fake. Just ignore it.

Its 100% a scam . Its really common type of phishing . They send you an email telling you need to verify your account or else it will get closed & link you to a fake website that looks identical to the original which sends all the details you type to the scammers .

To be sure just check the sender address . Real emails from paypal will be from [email protected] .

I was spacing out when I got this email and actually input the info (but I put in the wrong password) in and pressed enter...Then I realized that it was a scam and immediately logged onto my real account. I knew I put a wrong password but I removed all my info like addresses, credit cards (I only used prepaids thankfully), and phone number to be sure...

Ugh, dumb moment of the day.

This happens a lot with banking sites and Paypal. If you're not sure it's from them, NEVER EVER click on the link.

Also, you can report the email to paypal:

1. Forward the entire email to [email protected].
2. Do not alter the subject line or forward the message as an attachment.
3. Delete the suspicious email from your email account.

Most banks use a similar address for reporting spoofs of their banking emails.

This. PayPal wouldn't bother to send a potentially useful email.
Combined with the terrible grammar, phishing warning and non paypal.com URL, this screams scam.

ah, the anti-phishing protection they put up in all of the major web browsers looks like it's getting really useful.

that email is definitely a scam.
a proper email from Paypal:
- should contain personal information that Paypal is supposed to know about you (eg. name, customer ID, other info like that)
- AND (more importantly) it should only take you to Paypal.com
otherwise it's scam for sure.
