I'm using a DSL w AKAIO v1.8.8. The games that work are Pokemon Pearl (NDS), Professor Layton and the Curious Village (NDS), and Pokemon TCG (GBC), but this rom won't keep saves.

Why doesn't Pokemon TCG keep saves?

What am I doing wrong?

PS I've reformatted my SD w Panassonic like 10 times in 2 days... Fresh AKAIO from Acekard site n all that.

ak doesn't load GBC games, unless you use an emulator. The best GB/GBC emu out there is probably lameboy (google search for it). I'm not sure what you mean by 'won't keep saves.' Do you mean that after saving, the save corrupts, or do you mean that it won't load? If it's not loading, do the above. If you're using an emu and the saves keep corrupting, you'll have to wait for an update.

EDIT: never mind. So, those two nds games work, but the gbc one won't work on lameboy? If so, it's probably lameboy's compatibility issue or the rom you're using is corrupted or a bad dump.

So far as the Lameboy goes I literally mean that no save file is kept or made when I try to save the game. It is also the only game that I can get to work on lameboy out of about 5.
So far as the NDS roms go I've tried about 7 and have only been able to get those two to work. Also the Professor game didn't work for about the first 5 reformats, it just started working today. The roms that I used I tried to make older for compatibility issues but basically it was the Dragon Quest series n a couple others. If that helps

You need to save in the game AND in the Lameboy menu on the lower screen. That's probably your problem with the GBC game.

And I guess there's the possibility that you bought a fake Acekard?
That or you have bad ROMs.

I checked my acekard at the site, it's legit. I didn't know about having to "double" save on lameboy though. Thanks

If I have bad roms what do I do, just keep downloading the file and trying over and over?

I got The World Ends w You (I think is what it was called) to work for about 20 sec and then never again, why did that happen?

Also is it just bad roms that are keeping me from playing other games on the lameboy? 1/5 games working is not a very good ratio, I think I'm doing something wrong.

I meant maybe you're downloading roms from the wrong place and not getting the real games. If they just work sometimes and stop, I don't know.
And for partitioning your card, I just did a quick google search and got this.

Thanks for your help erryone!

Is it against the rules to DL roms of games that you already own?
Before the fact that that is against the rules, that's against the law

It's just a misconception that if you own a copy of a game, you can 'legally' DL it. You can't; it's illegal. The only way to get 'legal' back-ups is to dump from your own bought copy.

I'm pretty sure that even that is illegal if you keep it for over 24 hours.
I think most people ignore these rules.

I do hope you are kidding around.
That's a fake Internet myth.
