Nano Assault is a new shooter on Nintendo 3DS. Developed by Shin'en (Iridion, Nanostray, Jett Rocket), the game puts you in control of a microscopic spaceship called a "Nanite Vessel". Your mission is to fight off the deadly Nanostray virus that threatens to destroy the human race. There are 32 levels in Nano Assault that apparently adjust in difficulty based on how you play the game. There are also several different types of levels. One is a traditional on-rails mission where you move your ship around the screen as it scrolls forward, allowing you to shoot down incoming hostiles. The other is a more free moving mode where you control your ship along the surface of cellular bodies. The second mode is somewhat reminiscent of Mario Galaxy in how you orbit freely around the entire surface of small objects. Navigation is also an element here, as you'll have to evade obstacles and hazards such as laser-like beams of light to get your job done. Nano Assault also contains 10 large hostile bosses you'll need to beat as well. There is a boss rush included, and an enemy encyclopedia with strategies for beating foes. Nano Assault will be released exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS on November 22, 2011 in the US. No news on when it will hit other regions as of yet. Keep an eye out for it though!

Finally a sequal.

At the end of the game Nanostray 2, it said "to be continued".
Contacted the awesome devs a long time ago and they did told me that there was a sequal coming later...
so it seems like this is the result....
Waiting was worth it if you ask me

Still waiting for Iridon 3D 3D personally. xD

I tend not to like the Microscope styled shooters much as the premise and enemy types etc always ends up being rather bland in my experience.

It looks like the same "wait forever to kill anything" style, though its hard to tell if any enemies take a long time to shoot down and then just run into you or not.
I think they improved that in NanoStray 2 a little bit, gotta play that again.

The 3D starfox like segments do look nice.
I wanna try but don't think I'll be buying it without a good look first.

I've been looking forward to this game since they announced it, and now with this trailer I think it made more even more excited. I'll probably pick it day one, if I can.

Love it!
I support this guys.
They showed it on the Wii, now on the 3DS... they really now how to use the power of a console and how to make very nice games.
It's just a pity it doesn't have online multi-player

First the made Iridion 1 which was good. Then they made Iridion 2, which was totally awesome. Then came Nanostray, which wasn't much to say hurrah about. Then came Nanostray, which I haven't purchased due to it being too similar to the first. Now comes Nano Assault, which looks like it's just another sequel to Nano series.

I, personally, want myself some Iridion instead. Might consider buying this Nano Assault tho, as there's not much else to play on the 3DS.
