I have a cracked chipped wii. was working well until games seeked updates, a few games I did update (not connected to intenet) most of the downloaded games stopped working. what do i do?

the game removed your softmod stuff

rehack your wii with modmii from the stickies at the top of this forum

modmii is really easy to use and you get a guide to follow

IMHO chips are inferior to a good softmod

depends on the usage. softmods have evolved considerably, and your program makes it super easy to get set up properly.

but a chip has its purpose, and it does it well.

IIRC most chips just allow backup discs to run at half speed and only on older model wii's (and a couple can run at full speed). Other chips like a wode allow gamecube\wii usb-loading, but wii game usb-loading is still faster via a softmod. So basically in my opinion the only useful thing chips can do that darkcorp or a usb-loader cannot is a GC usb-loader. But your right, some chips have features that they do well that cannot be done with a softmod

Softmod is so much better than a chip, saying anything contray these days is laughable. Chips are only good for fixing bricked wiis so you can softmod them again. Perhaps get a wode for usb gc loading, and softmod for wii games. But disc loading sucks, modchips suck just as bad. I am glad we have chips, but as far as the wii is concerned, they are relics from the past and have been so for quite some time.
