Xbox 720 logo in Real Steel trailer

Sorry if someone else posted this, I searched, and no results. (this is a few days old)

Anyway:

Could Microsoft be starting to roll out its teasers for its much-rumored upcoming console, the Xbox 720?

Based on the Real Steel movie trailer, it appears that it is so the case. Some sharp-eyed folks who saw the trailer were quick to point out a logo of Xbox 720. Now, some may say that it is a fictional movie anyway, so the products may be fictional as well.

I saw this piece of news a while ago and already discussed it with a friend. We think because the Game is Set in the Future they updated and added all the Logos to match a Timeline which isn't our Timeline. That's why they have Xbox 720 instead of Xbox 360, because the Xbox 360 won't be around THAT long.

It's probably just part of the movie. Set in the future with all of that new tech, you'd probably see a 720.

Well it's alongside a number of other legitimate logos (Mercedes Benz, Coca Cola, etc.) so it may real and there because of product placement. I wouldn't be surprised.

On a side note, I'm actually interested in the movie. A bit.

You'd also have to remember that for them to use that logo, Microsoft has to know about it. As that logo, and Xbox, is their property.

It's obviously because the movie takes place in the future.

Like in Deus Ex: Human Revolution where there is a poster for Final Fantasy XXVII (or so) on some of the skyscrapers. The game doesn't actually exist, it's just a little jokey reference that establishes that yes, this is set in the future.

It would be obvious if the logo was surrounded by other futuristic logos, but it isn't the logos around it are completely present day ones like bing or capital one.

Everything considered it still seems unlikely that it is from Microsoft, especially with such a plain name like the 720, and the fact that the kept the logo the same, when we all know how much they like to change logos.

1. Why would the first place it's seen be in a movie?
2. We don't even know if that's the real name
3. It's exactly like the xbox360 logo and microsoft would make it more different then the 360 cut out and 720 put in.
I think the reason they put the logo in is so people in the gaming communities will watch the trailer to see the logo and maybe get interested in the movie.

Or you know, add in a bit of humor to a movie based in the future, where as the Xbox 720 is going to be released in the future. Sort of like a inside joke.

And no, it's not a real logo. It's make-believe. People see it, jump to conclusions. Kinda like that Batman X Superman poster in Will Smith's "I Am Legend".

And seriously? Boxing robots with fast joints? Speed and durability tend to be opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to robotics. And if there were robots that compact, that fast, and that tough, they'd most probably be militarized weapons and not for entertainment consumption, probably military-restricted.
