I recently bought an external hard drive to back up my wii games. It was this one:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0046RE21G

I set it up to have two partitions. One 205GB for WBFS and the rest for FAT32. I followed this guide:

http://www.pspmod.com/forums/wii-guides-tu...-wii-drive.html

Everything works great. The wii games backed up and play perfectly. I transferred all the homebrew and emulators that was on my SD memory card to the FAT32 partition on the hard drive. They all work except for two. Wii64 and WiiSX. Whenever I try to load a game it says error opening directory "usb:/wii64/roms" It does the same thing on WiiSX. The other emulators work fine (nes, snes, gba, genesis). I don't know what to do. Is there any way to fix this?

Try this thread http://gbatemp.net/t295936-wii64-and-wiisx...ved-usb-support

also you can search this forum and find other mods of these emulators,, there has been some usb issues with these emulators not liking some hard drives..
I did what you said and they're working again. But whenever I load a PlayStation rom it freezes. And yes I got the SCPH1001.bin BIOS and it still doesn't work. Also when I exit Wii64, it freezes and I just get a black screen.

You can try these mods as well http://gbatemp.net/t217245-latest-emulator...ssic-controller

also ,http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=221920,

make sure your fat is set to primary , and ios are up to date with mod mii ,,

Are you launching these threw homebrew or forwarders ,,

Your question on wiisx , make sure in setting to load from the bios ,then save ,, make sure your directories are correct on inside your emulator,,your hdd sound right

Thanks for the help. I got Wii64 working perfectly. Meaning it now exits back out to the wii menu. But WiiSX still won't play roms. Does it matter if the roms are in .iso or .bin format? Mine are in bin. Oh and yes I'm using a forwarder.

Bryon15 , on my Wiisx i use bin and cue ,, i don't know if the iso format works or not ,, also ,, have you checked if the games you are trying are on the list of working games,, if they are ,,

Make sure your bios files are labeled exactly how it is listed on wiibrew,,, there is also different versions of wiisx with different modes to them ,, some like different hdd more then others look around for version 1-4 of the current release...

all this is done ,, make sure when you launch your game ,before you do ,, make it launch using the playstation bios from your files,, it runs faster and seems more stable.

Ok so I got it working somewhat. Basically some games work and some don't. crash bandicoot, x-men vs street fighter and tomba 2 the evil swine return works. But megaman 8, tomba 1 and crash team racing doesn't

Say is there anyway for the playstation 3 system to run roms/isos of ps1 games from a usb device?

I don't know if this is the proper place to post this or not, But I am having some MAJOR issues with Wiisx. First, Is that I cannot seem to play Final Fantasy IX, Every time I load it, the game loads, but there is some weird glitchy type screen thats green and sometimes it will quit and give me some kind of (DSI error occured) or something, And also, When I am playing a different game (The Legend of dragoon) Every time I use a certain move, the game and the wii will freeze, Which forces me to reset my wii and lose any virus up to the point I last saved and restarted my wii. I have tried many different things to fix the problem. I got a earlier version of wiisx, Did not work, I downloaded the games again (From multiple sources) And that didn't work either. I am out of ideas of how to fix this, if there even is a way, Can anyone help?

FF IX doesn't work atm. Check that list to know what games do work.
Also a general tip: Always boot games through bios and ALWAYS set dithering to NONE. It is much much smoother this way. I got several games working close to 100% now. 3 of those have no music though due to CD XA not implemented yet.

if you have a jailbreaked ps3 you can play ps1 games, but ps1 games on ps3 is not good, as they will look very pixelated.
