If this is in the wrong section - can it be moved to the right one
I wasn't sure if this should be in a 'Wii' or 'NDS' forum, or whether it should be classed as 'hacking','backup','game' or whatever

Anyway, I'm guessing it's not possible (not from what I've found so far searching) but thought I'll ask anyway 'cos some1 may've figured out a way

What I'd like to know is...

Is there a way to transfer an Animal Crossing:Wild World 'sav' (from a flashcard) to Animal Crossing:City Folks
WITHOUT using a genuine AC:WW game cartridge (so I can't use the offical 'moving van') OR having a original AC:CF DVD (so can't use the 'save extractor'/'save inserter' homebrew & ACEditor method)

I only have AC:WW on my Flashcard (a DSTwo btw) & a AC:CF *cough* Backup *cough* on a USB HDD connected to the Wii
I have a Softmodded Wii with USB support, which I used 'NUS Auto Downloader' to do the modding, but I am unable to 'play' any burned iso/DVD backups

Thanks in advance

Why couldn't you use the save extractor method?

All the articles I've seen say you've got to have a genuine DVD disk for it to work - why ?? does it work with a USB HDD 'copy' then ?? (I admit I've not tried - 'cos I thought you needed the DVD)

EDIT: Well I've tried Savegame Extractor/Insertor - but I need the DVD for this
I've also tries 'Savegame manager' - & although I can Extract a save file for AC:CF (rvforest.dat) whenever I try the 'insert' method - I get 'ERROR! (ret=-1)' which I THINK is also because I don't have the disk

EDIT #2: OK - seems like I've been using an old version of 'Savegame manager' - there's apparently another one called 'Savegame manager GX' - which I've tried - but it seems r79 doesn't work (It crashes) but the one avaliable through 'Homebrew browser' (which is an older version) DOES work.
I can now extract, edit then import the AC:CF save file - just can't copy my Flashcard 'sav' into it, meaning all the fish/bugs etc that I've got can't be transferred over

I don't see why it shouldn't work, but I haven't tried it myself as I only played Wild World (on an original cartridge).
I could try, but I'll need to get a copy of City Folk first. What exactly is the official procedure?

The official procedure involves using download-play to get a temporary program on the DS from the Wii, which will then read the inserted game cart and grab the save.

So it won't work with flash carts, since they don't physically house the save on a save chip like normal.

Ah ok, then you need an original game card to do that. But a borrowed one would suffice if one knows how to backup/restore save games to retail carts (relatively easy with the right software, at least for most games).
But the process should work with a copied Wii version.

in your case, there wouldnt be a problem. the issue is having a flashcard with WW on it. the wii game requires you to go into DS Download to get moving van and then it identifies your game right after. obviously with a flashcard, it doesnt identify it.

I know, I just tried to answer in the tread, one Animal Crossing is enough for me, since I played the DS one I got no need to play another.
