Finally came out to my best friend as bi

  • So I am a bisexual guy, and I have known it for a while, and I have wanted to tell people for a while, but I have never really been able to build up the courage to tell them, but this week, I have felt like I had to do it, so yesterday when we were in a group call with my friends, I decided to text my best friend to tell her, and boy, I had never been more nervous, but she just said: “as long as your happy, I’m happy” and I have never been more relieved, I plan on telling the rest of my friends at some point, but for now, she is the only one I know I can trust. And today, I feel great, because I have had that weight on my shoulders for months.

    This is one of those things, were many would probably just shrug and be "K".

    Good to see acceptance is (partially) finding its way into society.

    I often wonder though, what the point of 'coming out' really is.
    If there aren't any hardcore urges to keep bottled up, does it change anything ?
    If it comes up naturally in a conversation, why not.

    @cornerpath Yeah, I think that won’t happen for a while, I’m not very close to my family, and my brother is pretty homophobic, and also for some reason I don’t feel like they really have to know that already
