Back in 2006, I was a newbie at hacking Super Mario World. At that time, I managed to successfully complete and submit a hack called Super Mario Starlight Remix. Unfortunately, said hack would age extremely poorly, especially by 2012. At that time, I would often ask myself what Starlight Remix would've been like if it were made in 2012 with my improved skills and the new assets that had been developed at that time. This hack ended up being the result. This hack features:
- 40 levels spread across 8 themed worlds
- custom music that shouldn't break on hardware
- custom enemies and bosses
- hand-drawn foregrounds and backgrounds
- the ability to play as either Mario or Luigi, each with different abilities
