YES! My 360 is finally here!

Wow, it's so much better than I had expected! I'm playing BioShock right now and loving it. Now I gotta change my sig and add my gamertag :]

Gamertag: xFrionel

Feel free to add me! And I'd appreciate it if you guys could point out some cool games for me. So far I got:

Gears 2
BioShock
The Orange Box
Soul Calibur IV
L4D

and I'm getting COD4 as I'm writing this.

Hm... well, I think since I'm so technically challenged, it will just be much easier to watch movies via flash drive. I'm gonna try it out tonight.

lol, if you followed the guide I showed you (from xbox.com) I don't think it would be hard...

Oh well, I both stream and play from hard drive, both work well.

Fine, I'll try it...although I don't know how to hook up the 360 to the computer... even with wires.

So how do I install a game to the HDD and how big are they usually? I only have 10Gbs so I don't wanna take it all up.

With the game in the drive, instead of starting it you press Y over it on the Dashboard and choose Install. They're normally between 6 and 8GB, I know Left 4 Dead is just 5.

You can install it while on the main screen thing. When it shows what game you have in the tray, hit Y and it should let you install to HD in the menu that pops up.

Most games are around 4-6GB, so your 10GB would get filled fast, but, there is a specific 120GB WD HDD that you can buy and do a self-upgrade. I've done it four times already for friends, so it's not hard at all.. I just have to find the site again.

War: if you are into RPG's at all, don't miss Lost Odyssey. TimeShift was fun if you like singleton FPS and haven't read any of the reviews. The new fallout isn't bad if you don't mind a bit of trudging through the (great big) wilderness between short FPS fights. Plenty of decent if not excel-ing quality games out there on this machine.

360 is the first console I've had in many many years that has me playing 20hr+ games to completion, hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine ;)

btw: you don't hook the box to the PC, you hook your box and your PC to a router or access point and they get to know each other better (which is why your PC probably prompted you to install mediacenter or somesuch.)

Ah thanks, I probably won't be installing any games... well... maybe L4D since my friend Marc really wants me to play it all night with him (he forced me to use my free month of Live.. >__>)

I went to the Xbox page with the Media Center, but it looks like there's no version for Windows XP SP3 :[ It's only up to SP2 I guess?

WD Scorpio

Here is the HDD that you can use if you want to upgrade your harddrive on the cheap. $55 is way better than paying the $150+ for the official one (I wish I knew this before I bought mine though. :( )

All you need is that and a set of Torx screwdrivers and then you'll be installing games like a maniac.

Thanks for the offer, but I can't purchase stuff online :\

Is there another site for getting a gamertag for my sig? Cause all the ones available at that site are so ugly D:

W00T! Im glad it finally arrived! I hope you like it, I will have to play with you sometime on my brothers account maybe if he lets me.

Alright, I got videos from a flash drive working, but I still can't get the media center set-up going. I think it might be because SP3 isn't supported?

Using TVersity is much easier. I couldn't get anything else to work, I tried all the WMP tutorials but nothing, installed TVersity and I was streaming videos in about 5 minutes. Here's the site (it's got tutorials for setting it up with the 360) http://tversity.com/

Hmm... well, I honestly can't figure it out, because it keeps saying I don't have the right version and to reinstall WMC, but when I tried to, it kept giving me an error... so I guess Ill try out your program. As long as it works as well as or better than WMC, I'm fine with it.

I just got my 360 this week too :)

I don't have any games so far though. My gamertag is GameDragon71, add me ;).

I can't seem to get WMC running either. For whatever reason it says its not connected to the computer, but when I go to my PC, Windows Media Extender pops up. So something is obviously happening.

Wow, I tried out Dave's program and it works awesome. It allowed me to quickly stream videos, although I haven't tested music. But I'm guessing if I stream music, I can't listen to it in-game?

If you look on the back of some games on the bottom, it says stuff like 1-4 player, co-op, blah blah. There is a section that says custom soundtrack on some games. Those usually let you do your own playlists in the game.
I'm gonna go to EBGames soon and probably buy a cooling system.
DON'T! I heard that these coolers increase the chances of your 360 getting the RRoD. I've heard there are newer ones but I won't buy one if I was you just to be sure.

Anyways, I feel you. When I got my 360, it was better than what I expected. The interface, the quality of the games, the fun inside it, how heavy the box was (I had to walk 30 mins from the shop all the way home).

Are you getting Guitar Hero World Tour?

I recommend downloading ALL of the Arcade demos.

Congrats :creep:
...have you played Gears 2 yet? what do you think about the Online Multiplayer? (because I want an answer from a newbie at it)
My Gamertag is Upperleft

Yes, I'm planning on getting Guitar Hero World Tour and Rockband 2 as soon as I purchase the guitar.

As for Gears 2, I still haven't had a chance to play it. I want to focus on one or two games before moving on to the next instead of just playing for 5 minutes on each game. Right now, I'm occupying myself with Bioshock and L4D for when I get bored of single-player.

Anyone know any other site that offers gamecards? Like I mentioned before, they have a very small gallery to choose from when making your gamercard...
