Wow. My first Collision.

Note: Very few people stop at yellow (amber) lights nowadays. It's worse in the US.

Oh, but um...just curious, who actually stops on amber? I know many people slow down, or approach cautiously but no one really stops do they?

Me and my brother have been taught to but obviously no one else.

Fair point, Edgedancer, what country are you from? I'm in the US and while some people stop or practically stop (thats me, hesitant and cautious about everything) many people dont. I suggest looking into a "Defensive Driving" course or something to help you get used to the mass inconsideration of the world in general.

I always thought when it turns yellow you either slow down or speed up (depending if it just turned yellow or not).

Anyway, how bad's the damage?

Mainly scratches but the boot has been pushed forward and out of place and there is a gash in the rear bumper. The guy that hit us apologized straight away but admitted to it being his fault so it will be all right. I am just glad he turned as we would have been in the middle of the intersection with a hell of lot more damage.

EDIT: Gizmo_Gal, I live in Australia and I would just like to say that we were approaching yellow lights rather than braking as soon as they changed.

You'll never forget your first crack up, even if its not your fault. just take it to heart and remember it next time it slippery out, it may save your life.
