Working on labor day...

It sucks. Seriously. Its not so much that the work itself is bad, frankly I would prefer today over tomorrow, but just the thought that everyone else has the day off, and blech.

Ah well...I overslept so I opened the store an hour late  ...yeah...counting down till my manager bites my head off....regardless, I guess I did get an extra hour off...unofficially.

But as a direct result of oversleeping: no breakfast. Which means: no food until 7:30...guess I can forget about doing my gym homework today!

Who shops at GNC on their day off anyway?! This place just stresses you out about your health...

Well first off, I'm a vegetarian, and secondly, I don't get paid enough for fast food (and even if I did, my wallet is at home)

Not for retail and restaurant workers xD!

Only the people who get paid so much for so little that they don't NEED a day off get a day off, duh. It's the only way that makes sense.

My little sister and our friend told me this yesterday, they both work retail.

I said, "Hmm... I guess they don't think none of you work hard enough for it to be considered hard labor."

Yeah, yeah, but honestly, I think that working retail / restaurant jobs are a lot harder than most, if not all, white collar business jobs - just with less qualifications, 1/4 the pay, and no benefits. Or holidays.

I agree seriously you guys have to take a bunch of crap from people who are just stupid.I would hate to have your job and McDonalds has salads and coke coke is good.

I read that it started when trade unionists banded together; in a sense they are making a day for those people, since they did have to fight for better conditions. Nowadays, retail workers dont have to do that, with all the rules in place. i dont work yet, since i dont have my workers permit

Yeah, but neither do accountants or bankers - no one in the USA needs to fight for better conditions anymore because of all of the rules in place. Everyone else gets a day off, though.

Speaking of meatballs, what's the deal with meatball sandwich? How can people eat those? It's ROUND. Trying to bite those in a sandwich is a challenge. It's easier to eat a burger stacked with toppings. :ninja:
