WOAH, I don't have cancer

Follow up on my last blog, about my procedure today. I don't have cancer, and that's pretty good. It turns out I had not only a colonoscopy but also a Endoscopy (basically looking at your upper half). Everything went well, the sleep medicine they give you in the IV kicks in fucking QUICK. To get to the point, I have a stomach ulcer and IBS. Man, I think one of the worst things about the Endoscopy is that your throat hurts really bad after it, and that's a normal sign of endoscopy.

Ok well, I guess that's it.:hrth:

If your throat hurts after colonoscopy they pushed too hard.

Anyway, relatively good news!

I know a lot of people with IBS need to watch their gluten intake.
I have an IBD myself (not at all the same as IBS) and luckily I don't have to change my diet at all. Whenever it flares up I should try to avoid spicy food and lactose because it may provide some unnecessary irritation.

IBS can be triggered by stress, FYI

Congrats mate. That's good news. FYI endoscopy is just putting a camera (and endoscope -- think splinter cell fibreoptic) down somewhere. Gastroscopy is the endoscope in your stomach and the initial part of the small bowel. Colonoscopy is an endoscope in your butt hole.

What you had is known as a top and tail, just make sure the gastroscopy happened first ;)
