ugh ... this is a copy of this, copy of that blah blah blah.

i am getting really annoyed by all the comments i read on games . whether it's a trailer or a review of a game, there will always be that comment . yes, that comment, the one where it says, "That is a copy of *insert popular game title here*". especially with hack n' slash games . every single one is a copy of God of War. of course -_-. ever heard of genres? do you expect to make a hack n' slash game any other way? the answer is no, you can fuse different game elements to it, but in the end, it will always be a hack n' slash game . it is in no way a copy of God of War.

when i read the comment section for vids, i am there to read the reviews of the game. i understand reading ones that say "it feels like GoW/DMC" but that's different. you aren't necessarily calling it a copy, but if you enjoyed/disliked playing those games, then you would know if you would want to buy it or not. things can tend to get unoriginal nowadays since the ideas they get have probably been used in other games. then when that happens they add their own "thing" to make it their own game. honestly, they can look similar, feel similar, but just aren't the same game.

so stfu and leave it alone. whenever i find a Hack n' Slash game trailer, i read omg GoW copy . feels like a bunch of PS fanboys are flooding the comment section which is a piss off -_-.

/rant done.

Yeah, this is seriously annoying. It's really irritating, just shut up...as you said, if two games are in the same genre, of course they're going to be similar
So, to you...PS fan-boys, I say, GoW is actually a copy of Zelda.

lolno.

But everything is derivative - that's why we can have genres.

nice troll attempt

by anyway the problems comes from games like clash of the titans which tried to be a 1:1 ripoff of gow and failed horribly
now obviously games like dmc arnt a copy by any means, but people still said it with DMC4

I guess gow is just known to be king of hack & slash
just like mairo is king of platformer

The only thing that's really a blatant GoW/DMC clone is Dante's Inferno, which pretty much everyone knows is a copy, but it's still fun.

And no one cares about clones provided they're good.

GoW is still crap compared to similar games, which is funny.

The only real genre that has a lot of game clones are MMORPGs.
For some dumbass reason, tons of MMOs are under the impression that copying WoW will make them as popular, or more popular than WoW, or at least that's the only way they could ever justify copying piss-poor game like WoW.

Otherwise yeah, it's annoying when people call other games of the same genre a "clone".
But there are a lot of stupid people on the internet, so it's expected to see a ton of stupid things said.
I truly think people should need to take an IQ test to be allowed onto the internet. Granted, we'd lose probably 90% of the internet.

can anyone explain the "greatness" of GoW?
to me it looks like any other Hack n' Slash game . unless it has some sort of backstory...?

lmao . i played Allods online which is supposedly a clone of WoW. i played it hoping to enjoy it, but i got bored after a few minutes...
i think the main difference between WoW and a game trying to clone WoW is that it's free...

lol imagine that ... 90% of the internet, gone .

What makes it annoying is they type the obvious. They don't have the time to type the difference between a popular game (GoW) and a less common game (Canon, Sonic Unleashed). Most times, the flaws are visual which most of us can see so their arguments are completely useless.

I prefer to call it "sharing ideas". And "sharing ideas" makes the world go round. Although, it pisses me off when a rip-off is just blatant and poorly executed. But if its awesome, then I say screw it, I'm playing it.
