Sunday 5th of March 2023:
Yesterday, I spent a few hours trying to get moonshell to run on my 3DS, but I didn't have much success. The program kept crashing after just a few minutes, even though I was able to get to the title screen and play around a bit.
I really love the aesthetic and feeling of this program, even though I've never actually used it before. It's weird how something can feel nostalgic even when it's new to you, isn't it? Maybe it's because it reminds me of other programs I used to use when I was younger.
Anyway, I'm determined to figure this out. I want to be able to use this program without constantly having to restart my system. Maybe I just need to tweak some settings or something.
In the meantime, I'm thinking about getting a little R4 card and playing around with my DS Lite. It's been a while since I've used that thing, but I have fond memories of it. Who knows, maybe I'll be able to get the program to work on that instead.
I'm not giving up on this yet. I'll keep trying until I can get it to work properly. After all, I really do love the way it looks and feels. There's something about it that's just so charming.
In the meantime, I've found a couple of other programs that are working pretty well. I installed LimePlayer3DS and ctrums, which lets me play music on my 3DS. It's not perfect, but it's better than nothing.
It's not quite the same as the moonshell, but at least I have some music to listen to now. And who knows, maybe I'll find some other interesting programs to play around with. There's something really fun about exploring the limits of what my 3DS can do.
I'll be sure to update as I come across new discoveries and experiment
