Well I might have liked to post this on say the 26th, make it a full 2 weeks, but nah.
I'm over all happy, glad I found the place.
In using the "View New Posts" function, I have gained a rapid appraisal of the overall pace and flavour of the forums. Seen the look and feel of what everyone posts and likes to talk about.
My impression is the forum is a fun and interesting place. Even for an old guy.
Guess you might find it weird someone your dad's age could call ya all "interesting" hehe.
Hey I often chat with my son too.
Parents after all don't always have to be boring and uninteresting. They're not just old people that are always telling you what to do.
Some of us can be kinda neat, if you let us be.
Every now and then I tell my son funny things just to see how he reacts. Most recent, I told him when he enters high school next year I will expect a lot more attention to homework. And less time sitting playing WoW. But mostly I told him I won't let him throw away proper socializing time in his teens just to play an online game all day. If he plays too much too often, I'll post a notice at his school that he's up for sale to any wall flower that wants to rent him as a boyfriend
Man that really shocked him
I've enjoyed a lot of the threads here on the site. Some were really goofy. A few were likely more me back sliding into being confrontational. In truth I need to chill out there. I came here to get away from that crap, which is VERY definitely about all you get on a lot of forums that are mainly my age group.
It's refreshing being able to just chat about games, and ditch the adult world for a while. The things I could tell ya about but in truth, most of the adult world is kinda depressing. Enjoy your youth, play games, resist the urge to be an adult before your time. Sure getting a real job means more cash, but there's a lot more out there.
One of my few interests I indulge in my effort to hide in something silly fun and youthful is anime. Glad I was able to discover I can chat about it here. Sure the place is for games, but gamers (your age) also watch anime. The stuff is a great stress reliever. It's just so silly.
The only big hobby of mine I have seen no mention of is models I suppose. Plastic kits. The things you assemble ya know. Not just collectible action figures from games. I'm talking Tamiya, Dragon, Italeri, Heller, Hasegawa, well those are my own favourite brands that is. Maybe I'll show ya some of my work later. I've made models for architects professionally too.
So I just want to say thanks for the reception I have been getting.
Over all this site is well sorted out, well kept up too. Took me a while to find it though. Google wasn't helping much.
