The tale of a guy who bought a used 3ds and the R button was broken.

It all started when I bought a used 3ds for 50€ (Yep, not a smart idea I would say).
When I bought it and got home, whoops, the R button didn't seem to work!

Now, right off the bat, I knew what I had to do *insert blowing noises*
But, unlike the dsi shoulder buttons, the R button would work with this trick!
I was confused. But, like the "smart" guy I am, I blowed SEVERAL times a DAY and, whoa! It worked.
And I kept doing that until the r button finally decided to stop chillin!

After 1 month it stopped working again and I tried to blow it again but thsi time, it would REFUSE to press.
I was like "sigh, whatever it's a small sacrifice to make."
But, of course, the story doesn't end there. Of course it doesn't...
One day, I was charging my 3ds for like 3 hours and was like "hmm shouldn't the LED be turned off by now...?" So I turned on the system and for some reason, it said that it was 100% charged (yknow, with the blue icon).
Being utterly confused I unplugged it. But the LED was STILL turned on!
It was like that for 3 weeks and it finally turned off.
After 1 month, I decided to get the R button to work again. By blowing it.
Yep, the charging light turned on every time I blew the R button.
HOW did that make any sense, is beyond me.

(Here comes the fun part) It was around that time that I spammed posts in the 3ds forums in this here site, rambling about my R button.
Everybody provided me solutions but they required opening the system.
But I didn't have ANY screwdriver that time (plus I was afraid to open a console since the PS2 incident where I opened it and the motherboard power button went flyin out of the console.).
And I was really hesitant about avoiding that dang screwdriver for some reason.
So, yeah, fast forward to today, and the R button has not worked ever since.

Also I would like to deeply apologize for what I have done. Or rather, what I haven't done. About my "screwdriver-phobia"
Really I mean it I'm sorry.

Like I told you back then: I would gladly have helped you – but you and your devices are too far away.
It is sad (but not unexpected) that opening the screws – now that you finally decided to give it a try – didn't work. Don't blame yourself, don't give up. Somebody will surely have a tiny drill so you can remove the screws (got to order replacements for them).

And please stop apologizing.
