Soo, the power supply came monday or tuesday, can't remember, but after my dad and i swapped it out it still didn't work, so it wasn't the power supply. Btw, at this point my dad wanted to take the disc out of the drive because he didn't want to open it up again once (he thought) we would try it and it wouldn't work, when he did get it out he messed up the bluray drive (more on this later). We ended up completely tearing apart the ps3 and reflowing it using gilksy's guide, but the first attempt didn't work. I urged my dad to try it again, just using more heat for a longer time, and it freakin worked!
The problem was, it now worked, but the bluray drive was screwed up, so i couldn't put anything in it, which was a serious problem because u can't backup your lbp saves, levels, etc. without going into the game itself and backing it up to game data first. So, my dad, somehow out of pure magic got it to work with the top half of the drive off. So I was able to load up lbp and back up my stuff, but I still need to format the freakin 1 TB usb hard drive to fat 32 then back everything up.
so for now i have a semi-broken ps3, but it works
oh yeah, and i bricked my phone but i mostly fixed it, i seem to be fixing and bricking things alot recently
