The MSI and the EEE

If you have the money get the MSI -- you'll be able to show off next school year And having a computer isn't all about showing off, if the MSI is what suits your needs then get that, if you don't need anything that advanced get the EEE.

EDIT: If I were you I'd get the eeePC because I don't need something powerful for an ultraportable and I don't like to spend all that money.

The MSI has better hardware I think ?

Buy it. The eee pc is not hightech in my eyes. It's much slower than todays computers and also not much avaible space to use.

MSI's subnotebook computer is called the "Wind".

Dell has some new subnotebooks coming out, priced at $299

Looked up the Specifications of the MSI wind.
It is awesome and worth the money while the EEE isn't even worth half. Take the MSI Wind. It has 1.6 GHZ. (sadly it's an intel Atom ...) and 80GB harddisk.
But It has got 1GB ram so it will be quite usable even for Photoshop and other things.

Going off of the information that they've release, Wind > Dell E.

But then again, my friends wont be at my school next year
and im not gonna say "Hey guys, come over to my house so i can show off my new MSI Wind!"
Im just gonna wait i guess, although i am so close to buying the EEE. My G5 may be slow, but if i spend an extra 200 bucks on a MSI Wind, i wont be able to afford a new desktop. I am just not sure. I thought it was going to be released today...

You know that feeling when you really really want something and you can't get it yet, but there is a worse, cheaper option? Like if you want an iPhone and you have to get like a stupid phone. (please dont flame me for saying iphone)

I really want a laptop ASAP. Both laptops are good, but i am a very impatient person. First i thought it was to be released on the 3rd, then the 16th, )which is a day after my birthday) Now today i found out that i have to wait eleven more days, then more for it to arrive at J&R or something. Maybe another month or more. I am really pissed. Also, it will only come with the 3 cell.

i'm just... really stressed about this... This small little issue in my mind.

Just so you know, i do not want a computer to do tons of power crap. I have my G5 for converting and pirating. I will mostly use my laptop to type and surf the web. (And use instant messaging)

so... anyone to convince my to shell out an extra 200 bucks for the Wind? I was going to. And dont recommend the linux version of the wind, i would rather get the XP version.

Buy the eeePC, use it a few times, then send it to me. Then, send a link to the Wind website to your friends who you will never see and tell them that, that is the awesome new PC you just bought.

Seriously, I dont think showing off is important. If the Wind is going to be more useful and beneficial to you, then get the Wind. I dont know why you feel the need to show off to your friends anyway, but just send them a link to the website or a review of the book. Or--better yet, buy the Wind, then make a video of it and send that out.

XP version of the Wind is the one you should get. Has 6-cell battery, 1GB RAM, and integrated bluetooth over the Linux version.

6 Cell ?
I read that it has a 3 cell which lasts 2:50 hours... 6 cells would be like 5 Hours! That would be awesome!

This thing is a portable beast , I mean you could probably play quake 3 on it. ( a graphical changed version which has better graphics. )

The wind has a 3 cell until the 6 cells come in later on. Fine, urza, ill buy the wind. Ill have to wait again...
