The CryEngine...

I got the CryEngine, and I am excited to (hopefully) make games! I know, small blog post, but oh well. Tell me what you guys think of the engine! Any tips and tricks I should know? Let me know! Have a wonderful day!

Is CryEngine as easy, popular, and as flexible to use as Unity? If not, then it's probably not something I will really install! :P

It's pay-what-you-want, so you can get it for free. It allows you to make games for PS4, Xbox One & PC. Tip: Make your own assets.

@TheGrayShow1467, I'm gonna go ahead and assume that you still either need to sign up to [email protected] and the Playstation Developer Network to access the Xbox One and PS4 CryEngine exporters, right?

@Voxel Studios Yeah, they want proof of being a certified developer. According to the email I got: "Once verified, we will notify you via email, and your account will be authorized to download the console-related source code."

@TotalInsanity4 Unity costs money. CryEngine is for more advanced users. Beginners typically use Unreal. I tried Unreal, but wanted to try other engines.

I might try to get one for PS4. They send the email to all new users with the subject: "CRYENGINE console license (optional)"

I wish you the best of luck trying to get it, however, you will most likely need the latest PS4 SDK and tools, along with an actual PS4 dev unit since there isn't a way to run pirated/development PS4 content on a retail PS4 yet.
