The 3DS Section Sucks

Warning: More Rage Ahead

Today has been fairly ragetastic overall.

The 3DS section is pretty terrible. Half the threads (probably more really) seem to degenerate into an argument over the value of the 3DS, if the games are any good, the price, if the 3DS will ever be what is considered a commercial success, etc. I posted a thread out of curiosity, and it was closed within two hours (may be a little longer, but I don't feel like checking) because people just couldn't resist talking about the aforementioned topics. Apparently asking if a game is worth the money is an invitation to derail the thread to high heaven. Great time when you can't even ask a question because the wrong people seem to consistently find their way into threads where they don't belong. For any wondering, just check my profile. It was the most recent topic (after this) that I've posted. I was kind of hoping people would give an idea about the game and, you know, just kind of answer the question(s). I thank one person for that having to be closed though. I won't name names, but damn if it isn't obvious (well, obvious to me anyways :P).

I also don't feel like my last post was overboard. I actually had to watch what I was saying as I went through as to try to get my semi-harsh message across without it needing to be deleted. The irony is definitely there.

This is the only section where I see this shit happen too. Hey guys, guess what, if you don't like the machine, stay out of the section FOR the machine.

The fact that I couldn't ask what were fairly simple and straight forward questions without the thread having to be closed by page three is terrible.

In other news:

I tried out DaedalusX64 on my PSP running OoT. I made it into the Deku Tree using as close to the recommended settings as possible, went to equip the slingshot, and shit broke. I wasn't too angry about that though. I was half expecting a freeze. I'm just a little mad that I didn't save before hand, so I'll have to start over and collect those long 40 rupees again (I guess Kokiri Forest is the only place where the frame rate drops fairly badly). It definitely wasn't unbearable, but it wasn't something I would play through a whole game dealing with (which you don't have to).

I'll probably start again a little later. It shouldn't take too long to get back to where I was, even with the shit frame rate in the Kokiri Forest. I'm considering getting Paper Mario, as I never got a chance to really play the first game, and apparently it runs pretty much perfectly in the emulator.

Oh boy, there's a certain person that just doesn't get that.

I understand and share your rage. To make it worse, people who do that are generally also people that don't know shit about the system.

Also, isn't it better to emulate OoT on your computer? Framerate drops are the worst thing ever.

Wait, you LIKE the 3DS? From the posts I've seen you make in 3DS topics, you seem to come off as negative towards it.

"Negative" and "realist" seem to be quite similar nowadays.

Also, hi Ikki.

It is a difference of being realistic and being a fanboy harsh.

For the record, I would say it worth it,but I'm a first time player. You already heard most of the reasons, but another one is you can get the Zelda CD through
the Nintendo club for free if you hurry up. :P

Like if you never play it before (which I think you have?) it differently worth it. Maybe it could have been drop $5-$10 for it to be more worthy for people
who have played it before, but I think the add-on and improvements (yet trying not to lose the vibe and trying to say true to the original) it worth at least $30.

I think half the threads in the 3DS section are fake, just about how the 3DS being good or bad and n00bs asking how to hack the 3DS (no rant intended).

I have played it before, many times. I will admit that the nostalgia train kind of runs into me when I consider the fact that a good looking remake is out there, but I'll live. Who knows, maybe there will be a 3DS emulator on the PSV. :P
