Ok, being a very self admitted "user" of the benefits of both technology, and easily found services, some of this post might sound 100% full of crap
I realize that in advance, so no need to point it out hehe.
But, I see an endless stream of threads here at the temp, that focus on "what cart to buy" based on the person wanting to buy this or that choice based on a mere sum of cash, and it drives me to distraction
How a person can agonize over buying a CycloDS based on how it costs 10 bucks more (is a common sum in comments it seems) just boggles my senses. I percieve the CycloDS as being the leader of the pack, the better of the best, the card I would WANT if I wanted a new card at all. I want the best location to buy it from of course, why pay more here, when I can get it for less there eh.
But if it is the best cart out there, who cares if second best is 10 bucks cheaper?
I want number 1, 2nd place sucks even at the olympics.
Alas, a lot of you temper blokes is kids (not a crime to be a kid), but a lot of you guys spend waaaaaaay to much time whining over your sucktastic funds.
And to be honest, when discussing a doodad that can essentially play 100s of games generally costing 30 to 40 bucks a go, that's basically you guys whining about how an item worth less than 100 bucks, is costing too much even though it will give you access to 1000's of bucks in games.
You have to look at it from the perspective of those of us that are willing to do what it takes to get that price of a flash cart, because we know, anything less than the cost of two games is more than a steal.
Cost of a game is another issue, but not so critical.
If a game is actually worth anything at all, then the price is mostly not relevant.
In a given week, you likely throw away the same amount of cash, as the price of a new game. You just don't see it.
Do you always completely empty your plate when eating? Imagine the cost of a full meal if you added the scraps up
Just the other day I had a meal out with the wife. Great burger combo lunch. So much food I couldn't eat most of my fries. Cost of fries, atypically 3-4 bucks. Do that twice in a week that's 6-8 bucks.
It's all about whether the game is just plain worth it. It's not whether it was 40 bucks, it's whether you wanted it that much.
You need to guard against dumb purchases so that smart purchases don't matter.
If you buy ever game that comes out, yeah sure, it gets expensive.
I'd rather get one friggin awesome game for 120 bucks, than 3 hohum games for 40 bucks each.
